Sex Watch: Chicago Republicans Website Features Photo of Nude Woman – Updated

To everyone reading this, especially the proprietors of the Chicago Republicans website: This is in no way meant to be a criticism.

The Political Carnival notes that an unofficial Republican website in Chicago may have finally hit upon a rock-solid strategy to appeal to more voters, to become a truly big tent: nude photography. While the picture, by my favorite NSFW Russian photog Vyacheslav Potemkin, might not make you think about shrinking the size of government, or anything else it’s certainly a good first step in making the front pages of GOP websites more inviting. After the RNC’s recent troubles, how much could it hurt?

I love the way this picture, meant to illustrate Rielle Hunter‘s role in John Edwards’ life, matches up with the site’s slogan, “How much is enough?” At least it didn’t say “Drill, baby, drill!”

The RNC could take a page from ChicagoGop.com. With the midterms looming, and scandal nipping at their heels anyway, they could use a gimmick like this to swell their war chest. If nothing else, it’s a lot cheaper than an outing at Voyeur. Their new slogan could be “I’m a Republican for the articles.”

Update: Check out the story as it was first broken by Windy Citizen. They ask “what the heck are they thinking over there?” I don’t know, but I like it!

Also, ChicagoGOP.org admirably stands by their boobs.

Repubs are hamstrung by those family values planks. Too much repressed sexual energy, and who can condemn them for a little tease once in a while. But I can not understand why they did not use a Carrie Prejean photo. She is all over the net, and definitely the hottest Republican out there.

To stress what Tommy says above, this is an UNOFFICIAL Republican website posting the photo. It’s too bad that the headline — though technically accurate — is purposefully misleading and a majority of readers are going to think THE Republican Party run by Steele that has recently had questionable spending issues involving a sex club. But then people wouldn’t click on it if the headline said “Unofficial Chicago Republicans Website” which changes the tone/newsworthiness completely.
