SNL Spoofs Jimmy McMillan: ‘You Probably Think I’m Just Another Washington Insider’
It’s been hard to tell this season whether SNL is just not in top form or if the political candidates it is spoofing are simply too ridiculous to do justice to. One might conclude that between Christine O’Donnell, Carl Paladino, and Sharron Angle this political season is simply an embarrassment of riches where SNL is concerned, and yet thus far they’ve failed to capitalize on all this good material in anything approaching what they managed with Sarah Palin.
That said, last night’s ‘Weekend Update’ skit with The Rent is Too Damn High’s Jimmy McMillan (Kenan Thompson) was pretty spot on. Said ‘McMillan’:
“Now you probably look at me and think to yourself, what is he, just another Washington insider? What is he, part of the establishment. Well believe it or not, I have never been a governor anywhere!”
Indeed! And right now, in anywhere but New York, that is just the sort of ‘credential’ that might get you elected. Watch below.
