The Overton Window, 100-Part Review

it's time

Today is the day we welcome Glenn Beck‘s first thriller, a sure-to-be New York Times Bestseller novel, The Overton Window.

We’re going to cover the fiction book (based in facts – “faction”) in a variety of ways. Get ready.

In the same way Glenn Beck has a 100-year plan, we’re going to put forth a 100-part review.

Now, are we really going to have 100 parts to the review, or is it all just part of an Overton Window to prepare you for the comprehensive, yet not nearly as comprehensive plan? I guess we’ll find out.

What you can expect, however, is a revealing Q&A with Beck about the book, reviews and much more.

As the narrator says at the beginning of Chapter 1, “we stay mostly the same and then grow up suddenly, at the turning points.”

Let’s all get ready to grow up together…

  • Fox News: We proudly pander to Teabaggers

The Washington Post panned it pretty good, although loyal teabaggers will undoubtedly scoop it up before it hits the $1 bin.

A choice quote from the review is

“Thrillers often are marred by laughable prose, but few have stumbled along with language as silly as this one”.

    P.S.
As the reviewer noted, “If the book is found tucked into the ammo boxes of self-proclaimed patriots and recited at “tea party” assemblies, then Beck will have achieved his goal. “

Glenn has yet another Best Seller under his belt. WTG, Beckster!! The Libtards are going nuts!! lol!

What was the the point of this article?

    “We’re gonna talk sh!t about Beck’s book?”

You guys here seriously need editorial guidance.

Does Abrams really want his site to be the e-National Enquirer with comments?

Noah is tortured by his father, and eventually breaks and agrees to help him.

I hope you teabaggers enjoy the ending I just gave you. :)

I think gold would be a better investment. Whichever way, Glenn is set to make his buck.

Rogue-Comic: IMHO, Steve Krakauer is the most fair person who writes for this board. I would expect a series of articles telling all sides of the review as well as his personal opinion on the book.

Now, reading the article from the WAPO that f yourself (aka Fox News…..) wrote; now that is a waste of time and completely predictable.

  • The Real Royal King

From the Simon Maloy review, “a conspiracy to bore you senseless” comes:

“The Overton Window is also very creepy. The characters speak in stilted monologues that are stuffed with anti-progressive, limited-government talking points. They quote the Founding Fathers at length and from memory and breezily name-drop obscure political theorists as if they were talking about star athletes. The protagonist, Noah Gardner, and the love interest, Molly Ross, cap off their first kiss with a discussion of the flat tax.”

Of course, the National Review Book Service gave the Overton Window an excellent review, and is selling it for list – 23%.

    Rogue,

You just don’t really get how things work. Pay attention over the course of the next day or two though, and maybe your impression of this site will change.

I agree that Steve K is the best and least biased writer on this site. He should appear on Red Eye more often.

Make sure those seeds are NON-HYRBID. Hybrid seeds are like hybrid vehicles–a lib conspiracy!

“You just don’t really get how things work.”

BTW, how things work = constant flase equivalencies for the sake of “balance” (like Alan Grayson is crazy like Bachmann and Palin).

You lefties on this site should really read some of the things you write. You sounds like total loons!

Hell, TRRK, I thought everyone could quote the founding fathers at length; you mean that you can’t? Oh, wait, I forgot, you’re some sort of commie, nazi, socialist, marxist, progressive ideologue who grew up quoting Mein Kampf.

You just whetted my appetite Bidenpants! I think I’ll buy TWO copies so I can read them in stereo.
