Watch Amanda Knox Learn That She Will Immediately Be Released From Italian Prison

video

Amanda Knox is the American college student who has was tried and convicted for the sexual assault and murder of fellow student Meredith Kercher. She had been found guilty of the crime, though a lack of DNA evidence at the scene of the crime have created enough questions about the case to lead to an effort to appeal the decision, which came down today. The Italian jury just announced their verdict that she would be immediately release, which was obviously great and emotion news for Ms. Knox, who immediately broke down in tears of joy.

Watch the emotional reaction from Ms. Knox below, courtesy of Fox News:

    Yay!

Moral of story: Italy is full of American-hating people who threw an innocent woman in jail who had to be bailed out by a judge.

Screw that country and everyone in it. Get the hell outta there as fast as you can, Knox!

maybe she can catch up with casey anthony.  those two might have a lot in common.

    Thank God!

  • Dog, Bob Dog

    Finally, they got it right.  This just shows how far police and prosecutors will go to convict an innocent American abroad. default4436 {“method”:”validate”,”params”:[],”id”:1,”jsonrpc”:”2.0″}

    That is one lucky girl.
Twenty plus years in a foreign slammer would suck.

  • Anon

she is evil and guilty…made her friends rape another girl and killed her

I’m not at all fond of Italy, but it has much more to due with the lack of fortitude, discipline, motivation and and over-abundance of inefficiency. It’s a different culture. Other values trump these including enjoying life and time with family and friends. I have never found the Italians anti-American and the Italian legal system on the whole is no worse than ours. Just look at all the convictions we overturn after 20 years. Texas is rampant with such convictions.

  • Anonymous

Not only was Amanda on trial but also the entire Italian judicial system and with a case so slim so poorly handled with non existent evidence and with someone else already convicted who had been convicted with ample evidence he did it,this couldn’t have gone any other way than it did.

  • The Real Royal Emperor

Right. It would have better to convict and execute Ms. Anthony. Whether she committed the crime or not.

  • The Real Royal Emperor

Oh, no, the whole world is against us!

    Thanks for your contribution.

I hope she really is innocent.

  • nighean donn

One perhaps wrongly convicted American makes all of Italy and all it’s citizens guilty?  What about the wrongly convicted in the U.S?  Is the U.S. full of American haters?

  • Anonymous

Well, we let a child murderer go here in America and they had less evidence on Amanda. Just my opinion but I was neither judge nor juror and I didn’t see the evidence. I wonder what Nancy Grace thinks?.Never mind, she thinks everybody that gets charged is by definition guilty?

Amanda, if you see this..ha,ha, next time your’re in a 3 some make sure everybody is already naked, there are no guns or knives around and everybody is sober. Just says…

  • Anonymous

Whereas here in America, we just execute innocent people?

  • Anonymous

Indeed.  Considering the execution of a likely innocent man less than two weeks ago here in the land of the free, I’d say we have a lot of pots calling the kettle black.

  • http://www.sarainitalyblog.blogspot.com/ sarainitaly

I told you she was innocent. ;O)

Great news. Now hopefully all three families can move on, and heal.

  • http://www.sarainitalyblog.blogspot.com/ sarainitaly

like you said, you didn’t see the evidence. nothing in your second paragraph happened.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ZIQS6YEA47QFXGOR4JWUBU2QRM Shark City

You are evil and ugly…no guilty of being stupid

  • Anonymous

I also think that the district attorney’s job here in the U.S. is to not only convict and put criminal scum behind bars, their most important job is preventing the innocent from being unjustly prosecuted or convicted.

  • Anonymous

Good for her.  Unless she did it.  Then not so much.

  • The Real Royal Emperor

I’m sure they are all rejoicing that they will be in America, and you will be in Italy.

  • Anonymous

Hey sarainitaly, It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you in this blog. And the perfect person among us who can tell us how the people in Italy feel about all this. I wasn’t unhappy Amanda was set free. I’ve only heard from others that they believe she is innocent. But, dang, the olny thing that had sparked my interest was an alleged 3some before the crime..Just joking..really I was just joking…Anyway, how was the reaction there in Italy?

  • Anonymous

    Can we say clueless!

  • http://mediamatters.org/ Leedog

Looks like the people who thought she was guilty without a motive or evidence got it wrong… again!!

  • Jason

LOL@the liberal and his random shot at TX.. Tollbooth!!!!

  • Anonymous

Well, the 2nd paragraph thing..I thought I had heard rumors of something to that effect..But! Even if I’m dead wrong and it was completely off base and had nothing too do with anything, much less with the crime what-so-ever, I still believe it’s sound advice..

  • Jason

    Wow… just… wow.

HE WAS INNOCENT!!! HE WAS BLACK AND CNN SAID HE WAS INNOCENT!!!! DON’T BOMBARD ME WITH IRRITATING FACTS!! I LIKE MY LIFE RULED WITH IDIOTIC EMOTION BASED TANTRUMS BECAUSE I’M TOO STUPID TO THINK FOR MYSELF!!!!

  • Jason

Awww, da’ widdle baby dun’ like da’ mean wepubwican girl.. awwwww.

  • Anonymous

Finally, the poor girl is released.  A terrible, unholy alliance was arrayed against her but the Truth has won the day.

  • Anonymous

I think a few deep breaths are in order.

I could care less what color Troy Davis was – which is why I am equally outraged over the execution of Cameron Todd Willingham, who was white – and I don’t watch CNN.  There’s a reason so many people are so upset about the death of Troy Davis and not the deaths of the other two+ men killed that week – because the evidence suggests that he was innocent.  Which, of course, is why strident death penalty supporters were among his most vocal supporters.

As for the temper tantrum bit – well, pot, meet kettle.

  • The Real Royal Emperor

I’m a Texan. Born and bred.

  • Anonymous

Run the hell out of Italy!!!

  • Anonymous

    He was guilty as sin.

  • david r

Weird shit in this case.  I live in a college town.  Every year a couple of students die in some puerile event gone awry.  Who the hell knows.

  • david r

You are dreaming.  The DA’s want to puff their stats with convictions, however obtained.  Heaven forbid you ever have to defend yourself.  It is better to just accept the beating or robbery, or whatever.  If you stand up for yourself, you will be prosecuted, and the only thing standing between you and a wrongful conviction is a jury of your boot-licking peers.

  • david r

I have traveled around the boot a little.  I found the Italians to be a nation of slapdicks, topped only by the Greeks.  The street food was much better in Spain.  The Cinque Terre is really amazing.  I thought Florence was cool.  I never got off the train in Rome, and ended up in Athens.  American women should not travel alone in Italy.  That sums the place up.

  • david r

Can you believe the GOP thinks Perry is too LIBERAL?   HA HA HA HA ! ! !

  • Anonymous

There is nothing I would like more than to believe that.  Sadly, the evidence isn’t there to substantiate that claim.

  • Anonymous

Athens sucks.  Except for Acropoli and a few others things, Athens is Philadelphia on the Mediterranean.

  • Anonymous

Care to provide your real name?  I ask so that if the need arises, I know not to ever retain you as counselor.

    On illegal immigration he is.

  • Sean68

He most certainly is too liberal on illegal immigration, assuming one regards encouraging millions of unskilled, illiterate third-world peasants into the country to keep wages low a liberal interest.

  • Sean68

A brutal rape and murder didn’t seem in character for Amanda Knox, judging from her background. The drug dealer from Africa was obviously the more likely candidate.

  • Anonymous

I didn’t follow this case closely, but if Knox is indeed innocent, I’m glad this nightmare is coming to an end for her and her family. That said, I feel for the family of the young lady who was killed – there can’t be anything worse in this life than losing your child in such a violent manner. I hope everyone can find peace as they move forward.

Couldn’t have said it better myself, validate method my ass, they just want to put American’s in params :[]! JSONRPC can kiss my ass! 2.0

    Rick Perry for President.

  • fanofgrendel

But the trains run on time.

  • Frod

If only you could have been there to help her with her case

  • Sean68

    That make you feel smart?

  • NancyGrace

Good now Amanda Knox and Casey Anthony can become roommates.

  • http://mediamatters.org/ Leedog

    Hmmm… we actually agree!!

  • Owl22

If your a young white attractive female (see Anthony,Casey) you tend to get the benefit of the doubt.

  • Anonymous

That’s right, so if you’re an ugly black man, I would suggest not killing people in the first place, then you won’t have to worry about ol’ sparky.

  • Dog, Bob Dog

Thank God someone understands me even if I don’t. default8307

You are right about Spain. Way better class of people!

  • http://twitter.com/Staciisa_bitch Staci Chase

    I’m glad she got released.

  • http://www.sarainitalyblog.blogspot.com/ sarainitaly

haha, yea, i guess that is good advice. :O)

It was the fabricated theory concocted by the prosecutor, but it was all his twisted fantasy.

A lot of people think she is guilty, but it is because everything the media reported was false, like the drug fueled sex orgy story.

  • Anonymous

Why are we being saturated with stories of amanda fox? And why not any on her ex-lover, co-defendant? Honestly, the media goes buck crazy over certain stories. Many questions still unanswered as her “best friend” lies in a grave. The whole story is sick and disgusting, and amanda’s actions immediately following the brutal sick murder still leave me wondering. . . . . ease up on the coverage

  • Anonymous

Oh, I agree with that…Too many of them see themselves as future governors and just want to have numbers that look good. Our court system these days are highly corrupted by money and ambition.

  • Dog, Bob Dog

Who among us would know how we’d react given the same circumstances?  A 20 year old girl alone in a foreign country, questioned by police for fourteen hours, continuously, in a language she had only a remedial understanding of at that time.  Then finding out they suspect you after they’ve already tricked you into signing a statement you believed would exonerate you.  Honestly, what do you think your actions would have been in her situation?  For your sake, I hope you never find out.

  • Sick-n-Tired

Why does she have to repay all monies spent on her defense if she has been acquitted of all charges? THEY should be paying HER for false imprisonment – which they admitted by acquitting her.

  • SammyC

    Pssst, everyone hates Americans.
