Oprah Winfrey To End Talk Show In 2011

tom-cruise-on-oprahThe New York Times is reporting that Oprah Winfrey will announce tomorrow that she is ending her syndicated talk show in 2011 at the end of her 25th season. Earlier this month Nikki Finke reported that Oprah would close up shop and move to cable in early 2011. From the NYT:

The media mogul Oprah Winfrey will end her iconic daytime talk show, “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” in 2011 as she prepares to start a cable channel of her own.

A spokeswoman for Ms. Winfrey’s production company confirmed Thursday evening that Ms. Winfrey will make the announcement on her program on Friday. The plans were first reported by WABC, the ABC affiliate in New York City.

“The sun will set on the Oprah show as its 25th season draws to a close on September 9, 2011,” WABC said.

This is incredibly obvious what she is up to.
I can’t believe none of my RIGHT thinking pals here thought of this first.
Clearly, she is setting herself up to be Obama’s running mate in 2016.
Now, I know what you’re thinking: you can’t have the President and the Vice President from the same state.
She will obviously declare California as her state of residence and that problem is solved!
The only reason Oprah had Sarah Palin on her show was to give herself a boost.
She has now established herself as someone who can hold her own with the former Mayor of Wasilla.
    There. That’s all.

    Getting ahead of myself.
Oprah will be his running mate in 2012.
THEN, she will run for TOTUS in 2016.

Ugh… I just can’t believe how much trouble NsA is going to be a stalker! And for what gains?! Wow!

ANYWAY… Good for Oprah. But I thought she already had a channel… wasn’t Oxygen pretty much Oprah’s deal?

Not a minute too soon, but what are all those “desperate housewives” going to do with their time?

AC360 did an extensive segment on Doprah tonight and the live blog was filled with numerous complimentary comments about her, but only because his moderators blocked all negative comments about her as well as the Walmart line cutter and terrorists Khalid Sheik Mohammad and Malik Hasan.

I say good riddance for the type of person who wouldn’t grill Sarah Palin.

So the hell what! The Oprah show ends, and the world just keeps on turning.

Wait a minute. I thought she had the Oxygen Cable Network. So, I guess she’s going to start another channel? Is she hoping that this new channel will be impervious to attacks by terrorists?
    Pfft, whatever Oprah.

Oprah’s ratings have dropped significantly in the past year or so. Who cares? I stopped watching her in the late 90’s. Ugh!

The Seven Best (Or, Somewhat Memorable) Moments Of The Jay Leno Show

    video

After 95 episodes, the epic failure known as The Jay Leno Show airs its final episode tonight. Of course, Leno himself will be back after the Olympics, comfortably at 11:35pm all over again. Which was pretty much the problem to begin with - the 10pm offering started as a similar product to the Tonight Show, and only became more like the old format as time went on.

Stephen Colbert: ‘Sarah Palin is a F***king Retard’

The usually reliable Keith Olbermann's inability to nail Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin on Limbaugh's use of the term "retard" has been pretty frustrating. Sure, he has posited Palin as a hypocrite, but several times he has repeated Rush's and Palin's dueling assertions that he was "quoting" Rahm Emanuel, or that he was being "satirical," without really challenging it. Luckily, Stephen Colbert actually knows what the word "satire" means, and deployed a pile of it on Palin and Rush last night.
