Live From N*****head: Sarah Silverman Visits Maddow For Her Take On Rick Perry

Picture 2 video

It only took a few weeks for Rick Perry to commit a whole new set of gaffes to make the media forget about “N*ggerhead,” the name painted on a rock in a ranch he used to hunt at. Not everyone has forgotten, though– Sarah Silverman, for one, is taking the opportunity to dedicate an entire stand-up show (titled “Live From N*ggerhead,” naturally) to the affair, and give the proceeds to the NAACP. She spoke to Rachel Maddow last night to explain her project and why she just can’t let go.

Howard Stern On Rick Perry’s Hunting Lodge Controversy: ‘This Guy Ought To Leave The Country Now’

howard-stern_10.11.11 Audio

Radio host Howard Stern is, shockingly, not the biggest fan of Texas Governor Rick Perry, and the GOP hopeful’s ties to a rather unfortunately-named hunting camp isn’t likely to change Stern’s mind about the politician. As Stern sees it, Perry’s visits to the so-called “Niggerhead” hunting camp in western Texas is a reason not only [...]

Samuel L. Jackson Weighs In On ‘Racist’ Tea Party And Rick Perry ‘N*ggerhead’ Controversy

Actor Samuel L. Jackson has become the latest Hollywood figure to call the Tea Party racist, and also briefly weighed in on the Rick Perry “N*ggerhead” controversy, when New York Magazine‘s Dan Amira and Catherine Coreno caught up with him at a benefit for the Children Of Bellevue’s Reach Out And Read program Monday night. Jackson also said he didn’t think the controversy surrounding Perry’s hunting camp would hurt the candidate, saying, “He’ll actually gain respect from a lot of people that he didn’t have respect from before.”

Sherri Shepard Calls Out Barbara Walters For Quoting Herman Cain’s Use Of N-Word

view-316x243 video

Sparks flew on the set of The View on Monday, as the topic of Herman Cain‘s uncensored use of the name “N*ggerhead” in denouncing Texas Gov. Rick Perry inspired one reaction when Whoopi Goldberg quoted him, and quite another when Barbara Walters did. Goldberg seemed to applaud Cain’s choice, and argue against the euphemistic use of “the n-word,” but when Walters quoted Cain (again, uncensored), co-host Sherri Shepherd told Walters, “”I didn’t like the way you said it.”

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney Briefly Reacts To Rick Perry ‘N*ggerhead’ Controversy

whbrief

In an indication of how quickly the controversy surrounding Rick Perry’s former hunting ground has penetrated the political media, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney was asked, at today’s daily briefing, to weigh in on how the Texas Governor has handled the issue so far. Carney, in a brief response, said that the name of the camp “was clearly offensive,” and that, based on what he has ready, Governor Perry “shares that opinion.”

Will Herman Cain’s Reaction To ‘N*ggerhead’ Controversy Hurt Him With Conservative Base?

Cain takes the stage to address the Conservative Political Action conference (CPAC) in Washington

As the fallout from the Rick Perry “Camp N*ggerhead” controversy continues to build, an interesting peripheral question has emerged: How will this controversy affect the rising candidacy of Herman Cain, whose denunciation of Perry elevated this from a mere “hit piece” from the “liberal media” to an intramural fight among Republicans? The perfect storm of the “race card” and Cain’s use of a word that’s arguably as inflammatory to the conservative base as the n-word – “sensitivity” – could spell trouble for Cain’s meteoric campaign.

Joe Scarborough: ‘N*ggerhead’ Story ‘Disqualifying’ To Rick Perry (While Mika Defends)

mj1 video

In an odd role reversal, Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough strongly denounced Texas Gov. Rick Perry, this morning, over a Washington Post report about a hunting camp that once (and colloquially, still does) bore the offensive name “N*ggerhead,” while liberal co-host Mika Brzezinski defended Perry and mocked the news value of the story. Scarborough called the incident “disqualifying,” while Brzezinski’s faint defense involved asking whether Perry isn’t “running around screaming (the n-word) wildly at people?”

Don Lemon To CNN Panel: How Bad Is ‘N*ggerhead’ Story For Perry Campaign?

donlemon_n*ggerhead video

This past Sunday the Washington Post published a lengthy report on a family camping site rented by Texas Governor Rick Perry that went by the name N*ggerhead Rock. Last night CNN’s Don Lemon very carefully reported on the story then asked fellow panelists if the Perry campaign can recover from even being associated from this story.

Herman Cain: GOP Race-Baiter And Race Apologist

images

When the GOP goes in on race, they really go all in. Last week Herman Cain had a public service announcement notifying Blacks that it’s time for the brainwashing to stop. No longer would Blacks blindly vote for Democrats whose policies clearly haven’t helped. Instead, he made clear they’ll be voting for him – well at least 30% of them. (Of course, that percentage may change, so stay tuned for more instructions Black People.) Clearly Cain’s understanding of the history of the Black vote and how it has shifted is more hazy than Gary Johnson‘s favorite medical marijuana dispensary. But more on that later.

WaPo Report Ties Rick Perry To ‘N*ggerhead’ Hunting Camp That Candidate Has Denounced

rickperry_9.19.11

A new Washington Post report about a hunting camp that once (and colloquially, still does) bore the offensive name “N*ggerhead” is raising new questions, fairly or unfairly, about embattled GOP presidential candidate Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX). The article exhaustively details the questions surrounding the camp, and while it contains a denunciation by Perry, it also carries with it the strong suggestion that Perry at least tolerated the name, once painted on a large rock at the camp’s entrance, for a time.
