A White Wig Is All It Takes To Magically Transform Andy Richter Into Newt Gingrich

video

It’s amazing the amount of effort some impressionists take in crafting their work. They hole themselves up alone for hours upon hours, watching tapes of their subjects over and over, looking for those magical, key phrases and pronunciations that will make their incredible transformations complete. Meanwhile, on Conan, all it takes for Andy Richter to magically become Newt Gingrich is a white wig. It’s incredible! It’s like, one minute Andy’s there and then…POOF! Newt!

Of course, apart from the disturbing physical similarities, the impression isn’t perfect. It turns out that Richter doesn’t exactly follow politics so he doesn’t have any good Newt quotes to share. More importantly though, while he’s struggling to come up with someone to say, he looks confused and anyone who’s watched the debates knows Gingrich would never deign to look confused on television. Remember, Andy, if you want to be Newt, you have to know you’re the smartest guy in the room. Smug it up!

Maybe Newt has been doing his impression of an older Andy Richter all along.

So let’s review: to do a Newt so eerie it makes folks want to check for their wallets, you need to be:

    1. male
    2. Caucasoid
    3. “chunky” … o.k., chubby … alright already: you in need a manbro … STOP IT: fine, have it your weight: FAT
    4. wear a silver white-ish helmet-hair toupe, or look exactly like you are wearing one
    5. entertaining, or at least trying to be
    6. pontificate like the biggest blowhard pope ever

Andy’s got the first 5 down already.

And a little denial is all it takes to tranform Newt the Lobbyist into Newt the paid visionary.  Sure, and my dog didn’t pee on your leg, he watered your pants.

Newt’s exploration in buffoonery makes clowns sad.

Now, if they would have shown the “Richter” Newt sitting next to Pelosi doing a climate change announcement… that would have been perfect!!

Oh God, just on his mug alone, Newt is going to flounder in the General election. Then compound his ethics violations as SOTH, his infidelity, his lobbying, his support of an individual health insurance mandate…..

    and the man is screwed.

Conservatives better pray Romney gets the nod.

Romney will “get the nod” .It is his turn. It’s were the major backers and GOP polititions who are endorsing him.Ie Pawlenty,McCain,Chistie, etc’ He is also raising the most money.Just follow the money. But alas,Willard will lose in the general electionin the end because he is a boring wishsy washsy dull flip loping varmit hunter who will say or do anything to get elected.I think must people can see that.
    Romneys a phoney!

Go Andy, Newt will deflate sooner or later.

    I agree!

  • Rex derWunderGott

TPers don’t care ’bout no stinkin’ “his turn” b.s.

  • Rex derWunderGott

Newt’s been inflating decades, but et to deflate anything like Paul Simon’s “sad … lonely, little wrinkled balloon”.

Is Newt even subject to Newton’s Laws?

Republicans always do it. Nixon lost to Kennedy and came back.To run again in 68. In 1976 Bob Dole ran unsuccessfully for Vice President on a ticket headed by President Gerald Ford.Dole ran for the 1980 Republican Presidential nomination, eventually won by Ronald Reagan. In 1996 Dole eventually won the nomination. It was his turn. McCain lost the primary  to Bush in 200 prior to being the nominee in 2008.
    It was his turn.
Frankly I don’t see this pattern in the Democratic party. We seem to be always looking for a new fresh candidate.
