Back To Jackson: Toure and Rep. Peter King Debate The King of Pop
Remember Michael Jackson coverage? Well it’s back today in a big way.
All the cablers are covering the news Jackson’s mother was granted custody of his children, but on MSNBC’s Live with Carlos Watson this morning, another debate took place – about calling Jackson a “pedophile.”
Watson’s guest co-host Toure took on Rep. Peter King over his comments after Jackson’s death that “this guy was a pervert, was a child molester, was a pedophile.”
“I stand by everything I said, and I believe most of the American people agree with me,” said King after his original comments were replayed.
Toure called the statement “slanderous” and questioned King over his motivation. “Why do you take that step,” he asked. “How does it help the people of Long Island for you to be on television railing against Michael Jackson?”
Just because we’ve entered August, doesn’t mean the media can’t find new ways to talk about Jackson.
