Bill O’Reilly And Dick Morris Bash Ron Paul: He’s Not Going To Be The Nominee
On Wednesday, Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly invited author and former political consultant Dick Morris to the show in order to discuss Ron Paul‘s chances of garnering the GOP nomination. Their verdict? “He’s not” and also “he shouldn’t.”
“Let me give you a little background on the poll situation,” Morris offered. “In many recent presidential races, what happened was that a candidate got rid of his major opponent and then got to run against someone they couldn’t possibly win.”
“Sometimes you get a candidate who can’t possibly win,” he continued, “who makes it into the top two, edging out a candidate who can win. And then the establishment candidate beats him.”

When asked by O’Reilly why he didn’t want Paul to do well, Morris replied that, if Paul happens to win the nomination, he “absolutely, positively” guarantees Barack Obama will be a two-term president.
“He’s not going to be the nominee,” O’Reilly weighed in, “but doesn’t he make it more interesting? Doesn’t he challenge the ‘powers that be’?”
Sure, Morris agreed, but he’d much rather see a “fair fight” between two strong GOP candidates, namely Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich.

You may recall that, earlier today on Fox News, Chris Wallace opined that a Ron Paul win in Iowa will “to a certain degree, […] discredit the Iowa caucuses because, rightly or wrongly, I think most of the Republican establishment thinks he is not going to end up as the nominee.”
