Bill O’Reilly: Sarah Palin’s Numbers Are Dropping Because She Won’t ‘Engage,’ Answer Questions

video

While many people got caught up in the silliness of Bill O’Reilly taking on Rebecca Black last night, his quick swipe on a slightly more difficult target seemed to slip through the cracks. During his segment with Bernie Goldberg, O’Reilly discussed Chris Wallace’s complaint that Hillary Clinton and Robert Gates‘ seeming avoidance of Fox News Sunday. O’Reilly said that the Obama Administration’s reluctance to defend their positions in potentially hostile environments showed a lack of confidence and bad leadership. First, though, he compared it to the actions of none other than Sarah Palin.

Here was the comparison he made:

“The same thing’s happening with Sarah Palin. Her favorability amongst Republicans and Independents has dropped four points in a month. And the reason I think it’s dropping is because she’s not engaging. Y’know, when I had her on this program, I asked her some specific questions, she didn’t want to answer them, she wanted to give a speech.”

It will be interesting to see O’Reilly and Palin’s next interaction now.

OK, Bill, but the converse is true as well. When she takes questions, her answers are so unbelievably stupid, self-indulgent and self-absorbed that she does herself no favors either.

  • skyfet

How can she engage Billo? she doesn’t know what she is talking about. We can thank bloody John McCain for this burden he has bestowed on us. Thanks very much John, a good legacy.

Indeed, Bill-o is even worse about interrupting his guests than Greta O’Van Susteren. The Drop Out Governor wouldn’t get a word in.

  • Nacho

So Bill O’Reilly is saying Palin is not confident in her position and is not fit for a leadership role.

She should have shown the big bully the respect he feels that he deserves when he allows her on his show.

Bingo. Her numbers fall either way.

To be fair, the crap coming out of Sarah’s mouth were the same stump speech she’s given a dozen times.

  • CAINtheBULL

Bill is saying that Palin doesn’t express an original thought when she comes on. Duh.

Have to say though…. there must of been a fallout behind the scenes between Palin and some of the Fox People. Fox’s #1 host is putting her on blast about not having anything to say. That’s not good for her “brand”. Why is Roger A. not telling Bill not to attack her… is her over her also? Seems like it.

Whew! Thought I would miss the chance to be the 1st on this thread to scream, “RINO!”

They don’t like him anyway. The only reason Palin had to tolerate him is because she is paid to do so, otherwise all the GOP with funny background always avoid him. He sucks up to them to get them on his program, and then bashes them later e.g. Palin, Bush. I guess you won’t be seeing much of her on Billo’s program anytime soon.

BOR is shameless..he is STILL arguing in front of the mirror while shaving every day. Sarah has had several long interviews about once a week and has taken questions that were unedited from real people, tv hosts and foreign jourmalists – she has discussed military, foreign, domestic, feminist, and energy topics regularly.

But BOR never admits that news occurs outside of his tv show.

Hey BOR, if you would LET Sarah answer the question you ask her, you might HEAR her answers…but, remember, the Factor is ALL ABOUT BILL !

tell us Bill, when you last interviewed Sarah, you stated the retirement ages were 52 and 55, right? BOR is clueless!!

She needs to be spit on wherever she is seen. She needs to be treated like the piece of trash she is.

    LOL

    BillO drops TRUTH BOMB

I know this will shock everyone who always calls me a librul, but I have always loved Bill O. I am all for anyone with an opinion. He kind of reminds me of that blustery uncle. He is kind of loud, and you don’t agree with him. But you love him.

My problem with Beck has always been that it is a phony act. Bill is Bill. Certainly an amped up TV version of himself, but Bill nevertheless.

I don’t want everyone to agree with me. I just want them to play fair. Bill plays fair.

  • TangledThorns

Oh Bill is in trouble now. He needs to stand up and give specifics as Sarah Palin can and will tear him apart.

I don’t think that’s necessary. Be amused by her. There is much comedic value. A Shakespeare character, although I doubt she has a clue who Shakespeare is. Probably think it is some sort of pork chop breading.

Did you hear what Palin said today about illegals in this country. She doesn’t want to deport them, she wants them to succeed. LOL Isn’t that the dumbest thing anyone has ever said. I bet Mediaite will do a story on that.

Wait a minute, it wasn’t Palin that said that stupid statement, it was Obama. I guess we won’t get a story about that on Mediaite.

President Barack Obama on Monday told a student who has received a deportation notice that he does not want to deport her — he wants people like her to succeed.

The exchange happened during a town hall event sponsored by the Spanish-language television network Univision at a Washington, D.C., school.

A student, who appeared via Skype, asked: “My question for the president is, why [is the government] saying that deportations have stopped — or the detention of many students like me, why is it that we are still receiving deportation letters like this one?”

Obama answered, “We have redesigned our enforcement practices under the law to make sure that we’re focusing primarily on criminals, and so our deportation of criminals are up about 70 percent. Our deportation of non-criminals are down, and that’s because we want to focus our resources on those folks who are destructive to the community.

“And for a young person like that young woman that we just spoke to who’s going to school, doing all the right things, we want them to succeed,” Obama said.

I agree. I’m a liberal too, but I don’t mind O’Reilly as much. He plays relatively fair. I don’t agree with much of what he says, but I feel like people generally get a fair shake on his show. Beck, on the other hand, is a phony.

With each passing day, bill “ted baxter” oreilly becomes more of a “You Lie!” hussein apologist who is massively arrogant, pompous, boorish, rude and nasty. Like hussein, baxter is nothing more than a self-absorbed, empty-suit hAHrvAHrd elitist who thinks he knows it all – and that is why he constantly buts-in and prevents his “guests” for even completing a sentence.

I don’t understand why anyone watches “ted baxter” oreilly when they can see his role model, the ORIGINAL TED BAXTER, on reruns of Mary Tyler Moore’s show.

Like the coward lunatic-left d-crat socialists in the wisconsin and indiana legislatures who run off and hide in illinois when the going gets tough, the mentally weak lunatic-lefties in the “You Lie!” hussein regime can’t possibly handle NON- SOFTBALL QUESTIONS, so they also run and hide from anybody that might ask them. They’re all COWARDS who blindly cling to their indefensible extremist ideological nonsense.

Sound the alarm! A possible Republican candidate is in the news. Grab your happy mask, giggle a lot, and go on the attack. Remember what will happen to Liberalism if she gets elected.

    Be afraid……………be very afraid!

Yep. I heard her talking about the soldiers in the Marine CORPSE the other day. Does she still insist there are “57 states with one more to go, I think?” She also said that her CommieCare would “bring greater inefficiencies” as she continued to speak “stupidly.” What a ditz, huh?

One more time folks, fox isn’t a news org. When Gates and Clinton skipped them it was because they know they’re not a news org. Just ask Bill Sammon who should be fired but, since fox isn’t a news org, his job is safe. And Bill O comparing them to Palin is way off too since she only goes on fox while Gate and Clinton go every where else.

  • Lou Sarah

Hate to sound like a broken record Billo, but more people own ferrets than watch Fox News. The Jersey Shore finale drew 3x your audience. Fox News, or any other cable news, just ain’t that big a deal in the real world.

  • Nobodys_Stooge

Beavis & Butthead for the pro gun, pro force women to have incestual rape babies crowd. Its amazing how low Goldberg will sink to get his pasty face on TV.

I haven’t read through the comments to the previous post about Chris Wallace’s complaint, so forgive me if this has been said, but I watch more than one Sunday show. I don’t have any statistics, but I believe that I may be in the majority and when a guest does a “Full Ginsburg”, it can get incredibly repetitive.

There’s only so much time and by doing the three shows, their message was distributed. Chris Wallace and Bill O’Reilly have an obligation to promote Fox News and the Fox brand, but last Sunday, the two Secretaries were on a mission to explain the administration’s position and by doing three shows, they were effective.

As for Palin… she’ll always have Greta.

Fox peeps turning on themselves. How entertaining is that? Even Billo is not so stupid as to not know how rediculous Palin is… it’s clearly obvious to anyone that’s not a hillbilly.

    Gordo, Gordo, Gordo;
Obama has INCREASED deportation from the figures under the Cheney/Bush regime.
Go check your library of VHS and see if you can find yourself refuting that.

Bernie is just a bitter little man. Bitter because he didn’t get the brass ring at CBS and bitter because the only gig he has is with BillO. Can’t blame him.

O’Reilly is wrong because he bases his premise on a phony poll, one with about 10% greater Democrat share than voted in the last election.
