Hannity Rails Against ‘Hopeless’ Chris Matthews For His Racism Definition: ‘Everything Is A Dog Whistle’

video

On his show Tuesday night, Sean Hannity went after MSNBC host Chris Matthews, who, earlier this week, offered up a very specific definition of racism. Advising Matthews to invest in a dictionary, Hannity pointed to the likes of Louis Farrakhan as examples of racism that don’t fit Matthews’ mold — then segueing into the Democratic Party’s penchant for playing the race card.

Matthews definition came during a segment in which he was responding to Rush Limbaugh‘s reaction to the sermon at the Easter service the Obamas attended. “Actually, Rushbo,” Matthews sought to correct, “racism is the belief that one race – whites — should rule all others. Get your definitions straight.”

To discuss, Hannity invited on Herman Cain who deemed Matthews “laughable,” while Hannity stated emphatically, “That’s not what the dictionary says…it’s very clear, there could be people of other races that are racist.”

“Is that hard for an NBC news anchor to figure out?” Hannity asked, prompting Cain to posit that maybe Matthews doesn’t have “enough black friends.” The pair stressed that racism can go either way — which transitioned into Hannity bringing up Joe Biden’s “put y’all back in chains” remark (about the GOP) as a way to exemplify his perceived Democratic narrative about race.

“Everything is a dog whistle,” he charged, playing a montage of Matthews’ race-related remarks. “Chicago?! … You can’t say urban anymore?”

Cain only had one word for Matthews: “hopeless.”
