Oprah Disses Sarah Palin’s New, ‘Kinda Cute’ Hair Style

video

Sarah Palin quietly returned to The Oprah Winfrey Show yesterday, and genuinely surprised Oprah right off the bat. Appearing via satellite from her home in Wasilla, Alaska, Oprah interrupted her own introduction of the former Governor by exclaiming “Look at your hair?!?” The satellite delay made for an awkward pause, but Palin played it off well, retorting “I tried to look more like you!” The lasting soundbite, however, might be Oprah’s damned Palin’s new doo with faint praise: “It’s kinda cute.” Meow!

Who cares? Is this even worth reporting on? So she changed her hairstyle. Next thing you know the media will report when she changes toilet paper brands.

  • sarainitaly

i thought that was soooo bitchy! diss a female guest on her hair, on a national tv show?? terribly tacky for a seasoned talk show host, and a woman who has more hairstyles then I have shoes.

considering how much criticism Oprah got when she went curly, you would think she wouldn’t be so rude to someone else for going curly. Palin probably had on a faux pony tail, since her interview was at like 5am.

I can only assume Oprah let her Obama love influence her professionalism. (perhaps that’s one of the reasons her show has been tanking.)

  • Puter Boi

    Colby?

Time to push the keyboard away….get up….climb the basement steps ….open a door….look up at the sun and have a great day!!!

This is more than a little silly.

  • blueblogger

Show “tanking” yea sara we should all be as TANKED as Oprah. I guess you are not into “women talk”. Quit blaming even something this stupid on Obama’s influence. What a crock you Obama haters get into. I personally would love to have half the shoes and hairstyles as Oprah.

  • blueblogger

Oh and sara stop making excuses for that goofy Palin. She is goofy.

  • JunkJunk

I really don’t think Oprah intended to diss the former guv at all. Oprah probably just wanted to come right out and say that it was cute, but then realized that that may come across as too juvenile or even a bit sexist. She was probably just trying to find another way to say it, but because she was flustered a bit, she ended up using the word ‘kinda’ thinking that would soften the use of the word ‘cute’, but it ends up having the opposite effect.

In other words: I don’t think she intended for the word ‘kinda’ to have the meaning that it could have.

(Did any that make any sense?!)

    ;-)

Yea…because Sarah Palin has not been barraged by insane Palin Haters… it’s crazy for me to think that one of Obama’s biggest fans would be biased towards Palin, someone who said Obama palled around with terrorists. I’m sure Oprah just LOVES Sarah Palin.

“That said, it would make a certain sense for Oprah to hang it up while she’s still on top. Her ratings have been declining—with syndicated TV at large—in recent years. She has shown over and over again that she’s still relevant and can drive the national conversation, as when she hosted Sarah Palin this week and drew her biggest ratings in two years. But if she doesn’t want to ride the declining ratings of syndicated TV to the bottom, this would be a good time to make her cable move.” Nov. 2009

Oprah needs Palin for ratings….that’s the only reason she had her on.

I am into woman talk – that’s why I know you don’t DISS a woman on national TV about her hair…unless you are a witch with a b.

Quit blaming something so stupid on Obama? I thought everything WAS about Obama?

  • DEO

What’s Oprah supposed to SAY? the new hairdo made Palin LOOK as stupid as she SOUNDS.
She looked like a big LITTLE LULU! Hideous.

  • SWWT

Who knows what goes on inside the heads of women.

  • DEO

    PS

Oprah OWNS a cable station and has made it clear over the last year that she is no longer interested in her talk show and wants to pursue the other things that she has a more vested interest in.
I seriously doubt that Oprah, the millionaire entrepreneur and businesswoman, cares about the ratings, she is just NOT QUIITTING in the middle as SOME PEOPLE DO.

  • sarainitaly

If Oprah was tangled up in countless frivilous lawsuits, lawsuits that demanded all of her time, cost a fortune, and took her away from her studio, affecting her ability to do her job on a weekly basis, I bet you should would quit…or get fired.

she doesn’t cares about ratings? LOL!

  • liberalontogeny

    sarainitaly:

you’re sounding too partisan. OK, you are into “woman talk” Fine. Story more around that than Pres. Obama. I’ve read where you call out liberals for draging in Pres. Bush to many of their criticisms when articles not even about Pres. Bush. Which is an appropriate to call them out on that.

I just don’t see the need to leap over to Pres. Obama from a “woman talk” article. Unless you think like a partisan.

    Colby:

When I read the article, it just didn’t seem very “Dan Abrams” quality/criterion to me. I could be wrong, Just me, I’m sure others appreciated this story.

Shouldn’t you be at the beauty parlor, clutching a picture of Sarah’s new ‘do… begging for a cut just like it?

  • sarainitaly

well, it’s because I honestly believe that Oprah in her bias towards Obama, and her dislike of Palin allowed her to act less than professional in her interview with Sarah. I think she was snotty wrt her hair comment. I am not blaming Obama, I am stating that I believe Oprah, because of her affection and closeness to Obama, allowed her feelings to interfere with her interview. What she said was straight up witchy.

Any woman would have taken it that way, were it directed towards them.

    I am not partisan, I don’t belong to a party. I didn’t like Bush, and I don’t like Obama.

    ______________
It was reported that Palin’s book fee (in the millions) came through 3 days before her breathy, disjointed resignation speech was delivered…but yeah I guess it was those pesky lawsuits that Sarah had nothing to do with.

Like him or not Ted Kennedy stayed on to work for LOTS OF YEARS or until the day he died even after Chappaquiddak and allegations of murder, cowardice and alcoholism. He still stuck around to get the job done, he ate it for a higher good and for redemption…again this is an example of a politician sticking it out even though he was unpopular, not asking you like him or agree with him. People DO stay and finish what they started, adversity or not. Palin is bubble head looking for fame and fortune and endorsing McCain prooves she is for $ale.

  • sarainitaly

the media covered up for Teddy, the media tried to destroy palin. Kennedy should have been arrested, and thrown in jail. Palin would have been hung at dawn. Certain members of the media want to crawl up into Palin’s womb, but the cops barely even questioned Ted.

I also wonder if America wasn’t looking towards the moon, and enraptured in the lunar landing if more attention would have been focused on Ted.

a book fee has nothing to do with the time and energy she had to devote to the lawsuits, yes it helps with the bills. she also stated that the attacks on her children, and their input, had a big influence on her quitting. her children were sick and tired of being attacked, and they were fed up with the nastiness directed at their little baby brother.

Why does Palin endorsing McCain prove she is for sale? She ran with him, why wouldn’t she endorse him?

People DO stay and finish what they started. Really? Did Obama?

  • mcf1757

this is a comment section, and I am leaving my comment, my opinion. last time i checked, it was allowed.

    _______________________
Yeah, a draft for 7 million dollars DOES help with the bills!

…and she doesn’t have to devote ANY time anymore!!! Palin’s political aspirations are sort of like her PARENTING now, she can do it when she FEELS LIKE IT.
    _______________________

…and to your question about WHY wouldn’t Palin campaign for McCain. WELLLLL, Palin has positioned herself as the face of the new TEAPARTY movement, she just accepted another huge sum of money to appear there at the first big event. That alone proves she is for sale, but there is MORE
You cannot BE the voice of the teaparty AND support a RINO (McCain), it makes her a RINO. It is a contradiction that even the simpletons understand…well, exept YOU.
Madame Airhead just made her first HUGE mistake.

  • sarainitaly

she is not positioning herself as the face of the tea party movement. they asked her to give the keynote speech, and many in the party love her.

McCain asked her to run as his VP, and she spent months supporting him on the trail. You honestly think she wouldn’t support him now?

What is the tea party? it is a group of people, Repubs, Dems and Indy’s all frustrated with Washington. You are calling McCain a RINO – republican in name only? So….that sounds like he is not a Repub. He’s not a Dem. Sounds kind of Independent, Maverick like. Which, last I checked, was kind of like the tea partiers. Sounds to me like they are a good fit.

She said on O’Reilly, her first night, that she was not being paid for her speech. (Although, why shouldn’t she be? People are paid for speeches all the time.) She does have a speaking fee, as do Clinton, Huckabee, and every other former pol. on the planet. But she is not taking her fee.

Since when is being paid to give speeches considered a bad thing?

Are you capable of debating a topic without juvenile name calling?

  • DEO

She said on O’Reilly, her first night, that she was not being paid for her speech.
    ______________________
NOOOO, she didn’t say that. IF she did she lied. She is being paid and that is a matter of public record. What she said was that she wouldn’t make anything from that because she would put it back into support for other candidates. That’s called a RED HERRING. Implying that it would even out somehow…that basically her huge fee would be eaten up by her turning around and making donations etc, Man, are YOU gullable. Plain has a whole string of gullables. ALSO TOO< I didn't say being paid was a bad thing, I said she was for sale, she IS for sale. Palin must think it's a bad thing if she tried to explain it away on O'Reilly.

As for your logic about McCain being A MAVERICK, therefore "KIND OF LIKE A TEAPARTIER", check again. McCain is the most hated member of the status quo. He is GOP establishment and reviled by members of his own party. So reviled are these TALKING HEADS that Republicans have shyed away from them and become a fringe movement called the TEAPARTY. People like McCain are the reason for the teaparty. It doesn't matter if a politician is a Republican or a Democrat, the TEAPARTY want no part of the Chess game played by the sitting establishment…by campaigning for McCain Palin becomes a willing pawn in the game and FOR SALE, it's SELLING OUT. Read the teaparty blogs, m'dear, I am not saying this to UPSET YOU. I am saying this as a matter of fact. It's not my opinion…this is happening within YOUR own party. I am a democrat, it doesn't concern ME.This is Republican BS. This is republicans pointing the finger at eachother and $arah Palin sits right in the crosshairs now. Her lies and doubletalk have caught up to her WITHIN HER political affiliation. Trustr me she can't speak at THAT convention AND campaign for McCain. It won't happen without fall out. It CAN'T happen. ESPECIALLY as of today when a TEAPARTY member has announced he is running AGAINST McCAIN for his seat. Sarah is on the wrong side. At least she is on the side she said she WAS NOT on.

  • DEO

You know I came here to make fun of $arah’s Palin’s hair and maybe the corsages she wears all the time…I didn’t think I would have to educate the knobcheeses that SUPPORT $arah Palin without knowing ANYTHING about her.

Sarahinitailly, what you are displaying is called THE VICTIM COMPLEX. It is the nucleous of the Sarah Palin phenomenon. People say something about Sarah Palin that is ACCURATE, like she’s a two faced tap dancing vaudeville act doing the shimmy to the tune of CHA-CHING, and her worshippers take that as PICKING ON HER unfairly. It taps into their own victimhood.

If you had ANY facts, if you listened and were aware of the art of the con you WOULD NOT, you could not support an empty suit like Sarah Palin.
I’m outta here, I left teaching years ago. READ little grasshopper, listen, look at both sides and stop being a parrot. You are a human, stand upright and think for YOURSELF. It is liberating.

  • mcf1757

Where was the Tea party 4 year ago Sara, when under the Bush Administration and a republican controlled congress, spent billions of dollar on a meaningless war? Where was the Tea Party when Republicans spent millions on a prescription drug bill (without paying for it), passed tax cuts for the wealthy (without paying for it), 1.3 trillion dollars, according to Congress’ Joint Committee on Taxation?

Like Sarah Palin, they where at home obvious of the world around them, not until President Obama got into office did these teabaggering Republicans have something to be made about!

  • sarainitaly

i am not a member of the tea party, or a republican, so you can stop with your high dramatics.

UPDATE: Sarah Palin declared on Fox News that she would not profit off her speech at the Tea Party convention. But she was vague on the details.

“There’s controversy involved in this one because the tea party offered me a speaking fee. I will not financially be gaining anything from this,” Palin told Bill O’Reilly.
(if she is getting money, and donating it to candidate, that is a fundraiser. Again, what’s wrong with fudnraising?)

Funny, Scott Brown, the conservatives new darling, just called himself a big John McCain supporter.

Where is this public record that Palin is getting paid? I know Politico has a memo that highlights her speaking fees, but where is her, *bill of sale* to the tea party?

Everyone I have ever talked to that doesn’t like McCain doesn’t like him because he isn’t conservative enough. And, no one i have talked to in the tea party said they formed the party because of McCain.

I can’t make sense of half of your post, or i would reply to more.

mcf1757 has a valid point. Alot crap went down in the last 8 years…death & carnage. Not a PEEP out of anyone…..there is alot of solid citizenry going on NOW that there is a black man sitting in the presidency. Alot of people paying attention NOW. I guess better late then never but they seem to be responding to the wrong thing.
…and these people responding NOW are responding to retoric and buzz words and captions and phrases designed to ignite hate and play into some people’s ignorance and incuriosity…things the grifter, Palin, has a knack and yen for.

Good lord, jeebus…….She IS getting a speaking fee! A large one.
She was PURPOSELY vague about the details (isn’t she always!!!???). Her saying she will not be GAINING ANYTHING FROM THIS is a LIE.Get it?That’s one the points of this discussion, she will say things like that and she thinks they will stand, and indeed for alot of gullable people it DOES stand. You are probably MORE HONEST then she, because you believe the doubletalk.
It is very easy to check on these LIES. It is declared and a matter of public record…YES, Sara, SHE’s GETTING PAID. Anything wrong with that? NO, nothing wrong with that. Implying that she is NOT getting paid, well, YES, there IS something wrong with THAT.
Palin can get paid, but WHY is saying she isn’t?

…and I did NOT say the teaparty was formed because of McCain…clearly your reading skills are nil. I said it was formed against peoiple LIKE MCCain, people sitting high up in government. I said it didn’t matter republican or democrat, the teaparty is against status quo. against the sitting lawmakers….and it is another thorn in the teaparty’s side that Scott Brown said he supported McCain. the teaparty people are the very people who elected him and he has betrayed them already. OH THE IRONY!

sara, YOU are making me tired.

STOP READING POLITICO and look things up from the ORIGINAL source, not after they have been regurgitated. There are agendas and you are falling for them..also you must learn to read. You are not gleaning the facts from a read paragraph.

  • DEO

Sara, take a look at Michelle Malkin’s column on Palin campaigning for McCain. That little witch is one your heroes, right?
FROM there, you will read for yourself what I alluded to in these few paragraphs. I said originally, it is the republicans grousing about Palin’s support for McCain. Start from there, because I don’t care. I already loathe Sarah Palin. My point being she has betrayed YOU, she can’t betray ME, I don’t trust her, I see her.
Good night and good luck with all of that. You’ll SEE.

  • sarainitaly

“You are not gleaning the facts from a read paragraph.”

yea…i WONDER WHY i have SUCH a HARD time MAKING sense of YOUR hysterics.

you are back to insults, and race cards, so i have no further desire to continue.

name calling, hysterics, personal attacks and insults….
“I’m outta here, I left teaching years ago.”
gee, why? you are so good at it.

  • sarainitaly

i was about to log off but i had to add something. i do know that a lot of conservatives within the tea party (and obviously a lot of Repubs despise him because he doesn’t vote how they want) are ticked at McCain for voting for things like TARP, since one of the reasons for the tea parties was out of control spending. But I know a lot of people in the tea party that like McCain, mostly former Dems.

I was having fun in the beginning, and trying to have a fun debate, but you are incapable of being polite and not insulting.

My point, bottom line, is that who cares if Palin is being paid for a speaking engagement. And I don’t know how anyone can think that she wouldn’t support McCain. He is the reason she is thrust into the limelight. What I see as loyalty to someone who honored her with her nomination, you see it that her endorsement proves she is for sale.

And if the members within the tea party start eating their own, they aren’t going to last long.

ok, i am totally done with you now. you were rude, and i don’t appreciate it.

  • sarainitaly

“If you had ANY facts, if you listened and were aware of the art of the con you WOULD NOT, you could not support an empty suit like Sarah Palin.”

Like the 65 million people that supported the empty suit Obama?
You can insult me all you want, but I didn’t fall for that con job….did you?

Ok, seriously, I am done now.

  • sueNaustin

I think I was more surprised by Palin’s cheek blush — it looked almost like bruises.

  • blueblogger

sarainitaly, how old are you? Please this has nothing to do with Obama. And even if it did so what????It maybe well that she is leaving because of ratings. And even if so what???? She has more money and status than she will ever need. Let it go!!

It does not surprise me at all that Palin/Brown are the hit of the Republican party. Look at them. They are pretty people. The fact that they don’t have much going on in the brain is inmaterial. They sure are good to look at.

If you think that Oprah has no bad feelings towards Palin because of her relationship with Obama you are loony tunes. I don’t *care* per se, I was making a point, expressing my opinion. My opinion flipped people out. So, obviously someone cares…. Let it go? I am not holding on to it, nor am I getting hysterical (hint, hint). I was merely commenting on a post entitled, “Oprah Disses Sarah Palin’s New, ‘Kinda Cute’ Hair Style” I agreed, and suggested a possible reason. I have seen Oprah a zillion times over the years and I have seen her scream with glee over her favorite guests, complimenting them on how they look, etc. She was snotty to Palin. Do you really think it has NOTHING to do with her feelings towards Obama, and the presidential race? The Left HATES HATES HATES Palin (just read the people here). You don’t think Oprah is possible of possessing a tiny bit of PDS, especially considering her relationship with Obama? Come on!
