Showbiz Tonight‘s Brooke Anderson Joining The Insider

HLN’s Brooke Anderson is leaving the network’s Showbiz Tonight to take Lara Spencer‘s spot on The Insider.

The move comes as ABC’s Good Morning America has hired away Spencer as part of its push to close the gap on longtime number one network morning show TODAY.

The Insider, the syndicated entertainment show produced by CBS as a companion to Entertainment Tonight, released a statement from EP Linda Bell Blue:

“I’m a huge fan of Brooke both professionally and personally. I’ve admired her work on HLN and am thrilled that she is joining our Insider family. Brooke is such a well rounded broadcaster – smart, inquisitive, experienced, and grounded. She’s everything you’d want in a co-anchor and the perfect fit to sit at The Insider desk with our Kevin Frazier.”

Anderson is based in CNN’s Los Angeles bureau. She joined the network in July 2000.

No word yet who might take Anderson’s spot at Showbiz alongside A.J. Hammer.

Hey Mark,
Normally I’d make fun of you for offering this story to us, your devoted readers.

Then I realized I’d much rather read about Brooke (whomever) than read one more piece about the latest utterance of Bill Maher or especially Chris Matthews.

So spend some of your quality time getting us the scoop about whoever will replace Our Miss Brooke!

I would like to know why Brooke Anderson shouts when she talks. It is very annoying. Can’t she talk in a normal voice like Kevin Fraiser?

I miss her and I thought she did a fantastic job. I also liked to see what she was wearing and I always felt she was fair in her reporting. I like AJ but they made a great team. Good luck Brooke.

I have a hard time listening to her. She shouts and she always nods her head, very dramatic. I think she isn’t a good fit for this show. She is a bit out of control. But I guess she seems to please her boss because is getting paid to do it.
