Worlds Collide: Regis Philbin Is Mystified By JWoww, Snooki And “Smushing”

Regis Philbin is old. Super old. Like, “Jesus Christ was my camp counselor” old. So it’s no surprise that when Jersey Shore stars Jenni “JWoww” Farley and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi
showed up on Live with Regis & Kelly yesterday morning, Reeg didn’t quite know what to make of them.

This clip starts off on the right foot, as the ex-Millionaire host dances awkwardly during JWoww and Snooki’s entrance music. (Is he doing the Twist?) Things just get better after that, especially when Regis confesses that he has no idea what the phrase “hook-up” means. That leads to this exchange:

Kelly: Why don’t you tell us what “hook-up” means, nowadays?

JWoww: The PG-rated version?

Snooki, turning to JWoww: What should I say? I don’t even know.

JWoww: When two people get together, and…

Snooki, after a pause: Kiss.

JWoww: Ish.

Reeg, in a tone of astonishment: You actually kissed Vinny? No kidding!

Kelly Ripa soon interjects to let her co-host know that he probably can’t handle the rest of the story.

The full interview includes a few other gems, like Snooki on going to jail (“They didn’t feed me, they didn’t coddle me, and I’m like, “Really?”) and Regis awkwardly asking the girls to define “smushing.” Watch it in its entirety below.

I don’t know, Snooki does zero for me, but I have to say I’d be happy to touch Jenni Farley. Having said that, I’d take Kelly Ripa and touch her in every way imaginable before I’d do anything with either of the bimbos from Jersey Shore.

of course regis didn’t know what to make of them. he appears to be from earth. where these bimbos are from is anyone’s guess.

I really wish this article had not been written by someone that comes across as a 19 year old intern.That said it’s refreshing to encounter anyone on television etc that isn’t immersed in the cultural sludge all over every form of media.

I’m younger than Regis but I completely identify with a willing absence of knowledge concerning subject matter like Jersey Shore.I actually have better uses for my time and attention.

And really,those girls are walking petri dishes.One day they should be preserved for science…as a warning.

Shouldn’t their “15 minutes of fame” be over by now? And by that, I include Regis and Kelly as well… Hel…lo… who actually watches this crap anyway? Get a frickin’ life (job, dog, etc., etc.)
