Former President Bush Discusses Past Drunken Hijinks With Matt Lauer

Turn your minds way, way back to October 2000. Bush and Gore were racing toward the finish line when beer company Sam Adams polled the American people about which candidate they’d prefer to have a beer with. Teetotaler George W beat Gore 40% to 37%.

Regardless of how you feel about how the election turned out, it seems that when choosing a drinking companion, America picked wisely because Ol’ W was apparently hilarious when he was on the sauce.

People Magazine is reporting that on next Monday’s Matt Lauer Reports, former President Bush will preview his upcoming memoir Decision Points by discussing what happened when he combined alcohol with his “wise-ass” personality:

“So I’m drunk at the dinner table at Mother and Dad’s house in Maine. And my brothers and sister are there, Laura’s there. And I’m sitting next to a beautiful woman, friend of Mother and Dad’s,” says Bush. “And I said to her out loud, ‘What is sex like after 50?’ ”

After that, one could hear a pin drop. It was “total silence,” says Bush. ” And not only silence, but like serious daggers” from my mom and my wife.

Bush apologized but the over-50 lady was a grand dame who got the last laugh. Bush reports that on his 50th birthday, he received a note from her asking: “Dear Governor, Well, what’s the answer?”

I like his “damn right” answer best so far.

Glad to see his approval ratings have improved and he is polling better than himself these days. W is the man, O is the manchild.

I’m looking forward to seeing some of these interviews and reading his book.

Um mind if I ask what is the Matt Lauer Reports?

Thankfully I will read the book and base my opinion of what I have read just like I did with Hillary, Powell, Bill, Reagan, Kennedy etc. I love to read and if Bush chooses a fair medium to go on for an interview I might watch.

Just a reading chick, Ft Leavenworth, KS

His genuineness and carbon footprint are better too.

Ever notice that liberal outlets will search for days to find the most unflattering photographs possible of conservatives? I guess their failure in syntax is somehow connected.

Must be nice to have born into so much wealth, you can be a drunken loser for almost your entire adult life, and then become president. See, he’s just like all of us.

Well, he’s just like you if you had proximity to power all your life and then graduated from Yale and Harvard.

I’ve only noticed it here and on msnbc, but I stopped going to Huff Po a long time ago and I can’t recall any “gotcha” shots on the Washington Post’s site.

Well, there is that. Though I’d argue that wealth almost always equals power in the USA.

Most “gotcha” questions the right cites are fictitious, as they equate honest and challenging questions as some kind of attack. The meme became overblown with the Couric/Palin interviews. Palin isn’t s well informed person, that much was clear, but somehow that was transformed into a smear in their minds.

Bush is a life-time Drunk – as is his father, “Bail-out-and-slaughter-my-crew-Bush.” There are reasons of extreme weaknesses for such insects.

It’s this snarky attitude which explains the Republican landslide — the independents simply could not abide the unremitting hatred coming from the Left.
