Joe Scarborough Calls On White House to ‘Let Him Out More’ Following Report Biden Calls Trump a ‘Sick F*ck’

It’s no secret that President Joe Biden curses. He’s only human, after all, and he has one of the most difficult, high-pressure jobs in the world. And now he has to run (again, it can only be assumed) against former President Donald Trump, whom he reportedly refers to behind the scenes as “a sick fuck.” This, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough argues, is why the White House needs to let Biden loose.

In Politico’s West Wing Playbook newsletter on Thursday, Biden’s “salty” language related to his feelings about Trump was the focus:

The president has described Trump to longtime friends and close aides as a “sick fuck” who delights in others’ misfortunes, according to three people who have heard the president use the profane description. According to one of the people who has spoken with the president, Biden recently said of Trump: “What a fucking asshole the guy is.”

And Scarborough told his Morning Joe panel, which included co-host Jonathan Lemire, who contributed to that Politico report, this is what Americans should be seeing:

I think this may be one reason why the White House probably should let him out more. There’s been concerns that that he’s not getting out, he’s not doing enough stuff, he’s not answering enough questions. All right, so if he makes a mistake, he makes a mistake.

He further compared Biden’s, um, “less calculated” language to that of former President George W. Bush:

[Bush’s chief of staff] Andy Card told [Mike] Barnicle one time that the thing that people didn’t get about Bush was when he bumbled around and and wasn’t perfect, wasn’t Ronald Reagan — I’m talking about 43 — Andy Card said it made him more relatable. … He wasn’t speaking in flowery language, like, people felt like, “Okay, yeah, he’s one of us.” Well that’s Biden. So let Fox News make fun of him because he has the same stutter he had since he was 14 years old. But go out and show flashes of anger.
