Fox News Guest Sounds Alarm About Crime in Chicago in Defense of Adam Toledo Shooting: ‘Al Capone Wouldn’t Leave His Home

Chicago Attorney and Northwestern adjunct law professor Andrew Stoltman went on Fox News Saturday to discuss the rise of crime in Chicago, saying it was so unsafe that, “Al Capone wouldn’t leave his home.”

“Our executives, our leaders have gone soft on crime, and that’s really, really tragic. Even now we have this no bail policy which is absolutely horrific. We are going to keep seeing a rise in crime until the leaders in this state from J.B. Pritzker, to our mayor, to Kim Fox get tough on crime.”

Stoltman also spoke about the fatal police shooting of 13-year-old Adam Toledo. Police bodycam footage of the March 29th incident was released Thursday that showed the moment the responding officer shot and killed the teen.

The footage showed Toledo was not holding a gun in the moment he was shot, although a gun was found near the scene.

Stoltman called the shooting “tragic,” but the “officer had no choice.” He continued by calling claims that the officer shouldn’t have shot Toledo as “ridiculous” and were “pandering to the left.”

“There are people who deserve blame for this but certainly not the officer.”

Since the release of the bodycam footage, protests have swept Chicago calling for police reform. The protests have remained peaceful, but some still see them as unrest leading to the city’s safety problem.
