As The Taste gears up for its premiere this Tuesday, the ABC promotional machine has peppered the entire country with ads containing the interesting-looking mugs of Anthony Bourdain, Ludo Lefebvre, and Brian Malarkey, as well as the sensual cannoli who calls herself Nigella Lawson. But unlike Malarkey, whose face looks like a glossy, perfect egg, Lawson and her curves are delightfully…human-looking. And this is on purpose.
On her blog, Lawson revealed that she forbade the ABC promo team from photoshopping out any of her human imperfections, particularly her stomach.
“Although it was very thrilling to think of being up on a billboard in LA and around the States, I was very strict and English and told them they weren’t allowed to airbrush my tummy out,” she wrote. “Wise? Hmmm. But that tum is the truth and is come by honestly, as my granny would have said.”
Nigella, you woman person, you. We can’t believe you managed to convince ABC to leave you and your curvature alone. (If only we could say the same about Malarkey, who looks like he held a gun to a graphic designer’s head until he dialed up the saturation in Photoshop… or lived in Miami. Zing!)
