Sacha Baron Cohen had a fiery response to President Donald Trump calling him a “creep.” The Borat star hit back by deeming the president “an existential threat to democracy” while calling on people to vote.
Last week, Trump weighed in on a shocking scene in the new Borat sequel which features Rudy Giuliani laying down on a bed and reaching in his pants while alone in a room with a young female reporter, played by 24-year-old actress Maria Bakalova. The president’s attorney has denied acting inappropriately and insisted he was tucking in his shirt after taking off his microphone.
According to Voice of America White House bureau chief Steve Herman, when asked by reporters on Air Force One last week if he’d seen the footage, Trump replied, “I don’t know what happened. But years ago, you know, [Baron Cohen] tried to scam me and I was the only one who said no way. That’s a phony guy and I don’t find him funny. To me, he’s a creep.”
On Tuesday, Baron Cohen tweeted in response, “Donald Trump says I’m a creep. I say he’s an existential threat to democracy. That’s why I released Borat before the election. There’s only one week left. Please VOTE! (Or you will be execute).”

The comedian also included a piece he wrote for Time magazine earlier this month. In the article, titled “We Must Save Democracy From Conspiracies,” Cohen expressed his opinion that the Trump administration is spreading “lies and conspiracies to gain power.” He also dubbed Trump “the world’s greatest superspreader of coronavirus conspiracies,” which includes the theory that China “deliberately spread” the virus.
Baron Cohen’s tweet marks the second time that he’s fired back at Trump’s comments about him. Last week, he addressed the president’s statement about not finding him funny.
“Donald—I appreciate the free publicity for Borat! I admit, I don’t find you funny either,” Baron Cohen tweeted. “But yet the whole world laughs at you. I’m always looking for people to play racist buffoons, and you’ll need a job after Jan. 20. Let’s talk!”

Cohen also addressed Trump’s “creep” remark during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday night: “Well, I’m sure when he was hanging out with his good friend Jeffrey Epstein, they probably spent a lot of their time talking about how creepy I am,” he quipped.
