‘A Real Slob’: Trump Goes After Letitia James, Threatens More Legal Action

President Donald Trump trashed New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) on Friday, calling her a “real slob” and hinting at more legal action coming.

Trump spoke in front of various law enforcement officials in Long Island to boast about crime reduction during his second term in office. While giving remarks, Trump took a moment to call out both James and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D).

The president said:

But the policies of Hochul and the Democrat colleagues, like crooked– oh, she’s the worst. Is she the worst? Crooked Attorney General Letitia James. She is the most dishonest– a real slob. You know, they had her! She got off on a technicality. They had her, but she got off on a technicality. But let’s see what happens here.

Remember when she was campaigning and, “We will stop Donald Trump!” She’s not supposed to say that! She’s the Attorney General! “We will stop!” She didn’t know anything about me, but she campaigned on, “We will stop Donald Trump.” Well, I think I’m– am I here as president? By the way, Letitia James is a disgrace to law, order, law enforcement. She’s a disgrace. She’s a dishonest person, very dishonest, very crooked person.

The feud between the two began several years earlier when James went after the Trump Organization for alleged fraud. The president insisted the case was politically motivated, but he was later fined more than $300 million.

Since the start of his second term, Trump has repeatedly tried to go after James for alleged mortgage fraud. A grand jury has refused to indict her multiple times.
