Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy laid into politicians on both sides of the aisle, including President Donald Trump, while reacting to Tuesday’s presidential address to Congress.

Trump’s address was met with backlash in the room, with some Democratic politicians choosing to hold small signs as a form of protest. Rep. Al Green (D-TX) took things a step further and was removed after heckling the president during his speech.

“I got no clue who this dude was but he just got booted for being disrespectful prick and the crowd chanted Na na na na…goodbye! What a shit show,” Portnoy wrote on X in reaction to Green.

Portnoy also mocked Democrats who chose to silently protest the president with signs with messages such as, “this is not normal” and “false.”

Portnoy also knocked the president, despite typically being fairly positive on Trump. The Barstool founder revealed recently on Fox Business that he was asked to work in the Commerce Department in Trump’s second administration, something he said would have required him to step away from his own company.

Portnoy blasted Trump’s declaration during his address that the “days of rule by unelected bureaucrats are over,” noting that Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) head Elon Musk was looking on, and he is literally an unelected bureaucrat with one of the most notable positions in the administration. Portnoy called the X owner “basically co-president.”

“Gotta admit this one didn’t quite land since Elon is basically Co-President,” Portnoy wrote in reaction to Trump.

During his recent Fox Business interview, Portnoy offered some criticism of Musk. Portnoy, a stockholder in Tesla, said Musk should be answering the same email detailing the work he’s doing that his DOGE is sending to government employees as they seek to recommend sweeping federal spending cuts. Portnoy’s call came as Tesla stock tumbled amid Musk’s work with DOGE.

On Tuesday, Portnoy gave up on his commentary and asked if all the “old people” making up Congress were able to stay up so late because of some performance enhancers.

“That’s it. I’m falling asleep,” Portnoy wrote. “How do all these old people stay awake? What drugs are they on?”
