Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin is McLivid at The Washington Post after the paper reported on her boss’s rent-free living situation on a military base.
In the story that dropped Friday, The Post reported that DHS Secretary Kristi Noem relocated to the Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, in the “Quarters 1” building normally reserved for top U.S. Navy admirals — free of charge.
In a scathing X post later Friday, McLaughlin slammed the paper, saying Noem faces renewed threats to her safety, which was why she move in the first place.
“This is truly sick, @washingtonpost,” McLaughlin said. “The media doxxed Secretary Noem’s precise apartment location as she faces daily death threats, including from the terrorist organizations, cartels and criminal rings @DHSgov targets.”
She added: “Due to the increased threats and safety concerns, she has been forced to temporarily stay in secure military housing. As the DHS officers Secretary Noem leads face a 1000% increase in assaults against them, the Washington Post chooses to again publish where she lives. A revealing lack of basic humanity for another person’s safety.”
