‘Famously Kind’ Canadians Unload on Trump Over Trade War: ‘F*ck the US!’
Every day Canadians are practically baring their knuckles as the trade war between the United States and Canada shows no signs of slowing down.
MS NOW found a handful of Canadians Wednesday who have apparently discarded the nation’s famous kindness.
“Let’s knuckle up, boy. Elbows up Canadians. We don’t take that stuff. We don’t back down from a fight. Never have, never will bring it,” one man said.
Another slammed the United States.
“Trump so worried about trade for Canada. Why didn’t he look after his own people?” he said.
“Get smart. Look at us. You get sick, you go to the hospital. You got to come out with a f*cking $30,000 bill. I tell him to f*ck off to be honest with you. Do something else. Get somebody in there that’s got some respect for people and his country.”
Trade talks between Canada and the U.S. broke down late Friday in the face of President Donald Trump’s administration vowing to slap our neighbor to the north with 50% tariffs — and Prime Minister Mark Carney vowing to match the threat “dollar for dollar.”
Canada is a crucial source of aluminum for U.S. manufacturers across dozens of industries, with the country producing more than half of the aluminum consumed by American businesses each year.
Trump slammed Canada as an “unreasonable” trading partner and claimed he’d consider changing the name of Lake Ontario amid the spat with Ottawa.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford even got in on the dispute, proclaiming Trump could “kiss my *ss” before asking on CNN if Trump wanted to “hurt Americans.”
By Wednesday the feud had shown no signs of slowing.
Trump revisited the issue during an appearance on The Glenn Beck Show.
The president then blasted the country for having “taken advantage of the United States for many decades.”
“They charge tariffs that are unbelievable, like on milk. 400 percent. And I just said, ‘We’re taking them on.’ And I took them on in the beginning, but we had so many other things to do because the country was a mess. But I said, ‘We’re gonna take them on, and we’re gonna stop it.’”
