Furious Trump Reportedly Unloaded on Jeanine Pirro During White House Meeting and ‘Read Her the Riot Act’

President Donald Trump reportedly screamed at U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro during their White House meeting Monday and “read her the riot act” over her office’s admission that damage to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was due to poor construction rather than vandalism, according to a CNN report.

Last week, Pirro dismissed the case against former Olympic canoeist David Hearn, who was accused of causing more than $1,000 in damage to the Reflecting Pool. The motion to dismiss explained that newly disclosed Interior Department records showed the problems at the monument actually stemmed from a “botched” installation. Hearn had previously pleaded not guilty.

Trump was furious, telling reporters on Monday that Pirro “choked,” and doubling down on his claims that “there was vandalism.”

Later on Monday, multiple outlets reported seeing Pirro arrive for a meeting at the White House with the president and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum.

According to CNN, the meeting quickly grew heated as Trump confronted Pirro over the handling of the case. Two sources briefed on the meeting said the president yelled at the U.S. attorney and “read her the riot act,” though he ultimately did not fire her or ask for her resignation.

Despite the tense exchange, multiple people familiar with Trump’s relationship with Pirro told CNN they believe she remains in her position for now because of her longstanding ties to the president. “It would be hard for him to fire her. He likes her, and he’s not the same impulsive guy he was during the first term,” one source said, while cautioning that “anything can happen.”

Live on Tuesday, CNN’s Kristen Holmes further explained, “This has really created a huge divide” between Pirro and Burgum.

Holmes also spoke about the videos of Pirro entering and exiting her White House meeting with a large box of documents, revealing, “We are told that she arrived at the White House for that meeting, knowing that President Trump was angry, and that she brought her own receipts. This is the evidence, in these bags, that she says backs up her claim that it was shoddy workmanship that led to what happened at the Reflecting Pool.”
