‘He’s Encouraging Me to Do More and More’: RFK Jr. Claims His Relationship With Trump Is ‘Very, Very Strong’

With measles surging in the United States and thousands sickened by a cyclospora outbreak, President Donald Trump is apparently solidly in his controversial health secretary’s corner.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appeared Monday on Sid Rosenberg’s WABC radio show, Sid & Friends in the Morning, and said Trump has had nothing but praise for him, despite an recent report in the Wall Street Journal which claimed the president asked the notoriously anti-vax Kennedy why he “wasn’t doing more” to probe the connection between autism and vaccines.

The claim autism is caused by vaccines has been widely disproven. CNN’s Dana Bash clashed with Kennedy Sunday when she challenged him on air about his anti-vaccine stance.

Rosenberg asked Kennedy about the state of his relationship with the president:

SID ROSENBERG: I got one more for you about Trump. I know he kind of went back and forth about the autism thing last week. I I asked BB
Netanyahu, Bobby, the same thing on this show. I said, “You guys are good, right?” He goes, “Sid, Sid, Turkey, doesn’t matter. We’re great. You and Trump are good. I know little disagreement about the autism, the vaccines, but you guys are great, right?

ROBERT F. KENNEDY JR.:Oh yeah. Yeah. My relationship with the president is very very strong and you know I have nothing but uh gratitude. He has kept his word to me on every issue and uh if anything he’s encouraging me to do more and more.

ROSENBERG: I love it. Bobby, I got to tell you, you’re so great at this job. I’m I’m really proud of you. I really am. I’m proud to call you a friend and keep up the really, really good work. You’re an American hero, Bobby Kennedy. Thank you so much.

KENNEDY:Thanks for having me, sir. Always good to talk to you.
