‘Iron-Clad and Unwavering’: White House Affirms Support of Israel, Condemns ‘Horrific’ Attack That Killed ‘Teenagers and Children’

The White House condemned the deadly attack in the Israel-occupied Golan Heights that killed 12 civilians, mostly teenagers and children, according to Israeli officials and reporting from the scene.
According to the Israeli military, it was the deadliest single attack on the country since the conflict between Israel and Hamas began on October 7th of last year. Israel claims it identified “approximately 30 projectiles” that came across the Lebanon border shot by the militant group Hezbollah.
The rocket from Lebanon reportedly hit a soccer field on Saturday that killed 12 civilians while wounding approximately 20 additional civilians. The attack took place in the Druze town of Majdal Shams.
The ages of the civilians wounded in the attack ranges from 10 to 20 years old. According to reports, the victims had been playing soccer when the attack occurred.
Following news of the attack, White House officials condemned the attack and reiterated their commitment to defending Israel from Lebanon and the Iranian backed Hezbollah.

“We condemn this horrific attack that reportedly killed a number of teenagers and children playing soccer on a Saturday evening in the village of Majdal Shams in northern Israel. Our hearts go out to the families of those who lost loved ones today, and we are praying for a speedy recovery for those who have been injured. Israel continues to face severe threats to its security, as the world saw today, and the United States will continue to support efforts to end these terrible attacks along the Blue Line, which must be a top priority. Our support for Israel’s security is iron-clad and unwavering against all Iranian backed terrorist groups, including Lebanese Hezbollah.”
