MN Suspect Vance Boelter’s Chilling ‘Hit List’ Named 70 ‘Targets’ – Including Amy Klobuchar, Ilhan Omar, Abortion Providers

The suspect arrested in the murder of Minnesota Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband reportedly left a chilling “hit list” of potential targets that included Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and the offices of multiple abortion providers.
Vance Boelter was taken into custody late Sunday after what officials called the “largest manhunt in state history.” The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office has unsealed a criminal complaint charging Boelter with two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder.
Boelter had left a handwritten list described by police as roughly two pages long and containing 60 to 70 names, according to The Minnesota Star Tribune. The list was not alphabetized and included addresses for some targets. Rep. Kelly Morrison (D-MN), as well as other members of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor delegation, were also among those identified.
Authorities have downplayed earlier descriptions of the lists as a “manifesto.” Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Superintendent Drew Evans clarified it was not a sweeping ideological document, but rather “a notebook with a lot of lawmakers and others … as opposed to a succinct document.”
“I don’t want the public to have the impression that there’s this long manifesto… It’s much more about names,” Evans added.
Sen. Tina Smith (D-MN), who had spoken with the Hortmans at a DFL fundraising dinner the night before they were killed, woke Saturday to hear her name was among those listed.
“I think, of course, about my own safety, and I think about the safety of my loved ones as well,” Smith said to the newspaper. “Of course, it’s scary.”
Morrison learned she was listed only after police knocked on her door early the same morning, advising her to shelter in place.
“This is really a dark and scary moment for our state and for our country and a lot of things,” Morrison said.
