Pam Bondi Reportedly Didn’t Know Trump-Installed Prosecutor Was Presenting Letitia James Case to Grand Jury

Attorney General Pam Bondi was not aware that Lindsey Halligan, the newly-installed U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia was presenting evidence to grand jury in an effort to indict New York Attorney General Letitia James on Thursday, according to a bombshell ABC News report.

James was indicted on charges related to alleged mortgage fraud on Thursday. Halligan also personally presented the evidence against former FBI Director James Comey last month, an unusual task for a U.S. attorney. Halligan was appointed to her post last month after her predecessor, Erik Siebert, stepped down after refusing to prosecute James.

Per the ABC story, Bondi “and other senior leadership of the Justice Department were caught off guard Thursday by news that the Trump-installed U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia had presented” the evidence against James to a grand jury.

“While Bondi, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche and other DOJ officials had expected Lindsey Halligan would move forward in seeking to indict James, against the recommendation of prosecutors in the office who had investigated for months the claims she committed mortgage fraud, they were not informed until after Halligan had already presented the case,” sources told ABC.

A DOJ spokesman commented on the story by telling the outlet that “The Justice Department is united as one team in our mission to make America safe again and as stated previously Lindsey Halligan is fully supported by the AG, DAG, and the entire team at Main Justice.”

On September 20, Trump — mistakenly, according to reports — posted the following message, addressed to Bondi, on Truth Social:

Pam: I have reviewed over 30 statements and posts saying that, essentially, ‘same old story as last time, all talk, no action. Nothing is being done. What about Comey, Adam “Shifty” Schiff, Leticia???
