Tattooed Nancy Mace Gives Darline Graham A Big Fat Thumbs Down on Taiwan Answer: ‘Jesus…’
Add Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) to the list of people who have skewered Sen. Darline Graham (R-SC) for her recent head-scratching debate answer on Taiwan.
Mace shook her head in disgust and flashed a big thumbs down at the camera as she played Graham’s remarks on her YouTube show Get Maced on Thursday, as viewers heard the late Sen. Lindsey Graham’s sister admit she is “not that informed” on national security, after she was asked whether Taiwan was a national security issue for the USA.
The lame duck representative — who caused a commotion last week when her new show revealed her arms are now covered in tattoos — said Graham’s answer did not cut it. At all.
“Oh God, I don’t even… I can’t…I’m now regretting I’m not running for the U.S. Senate,” Mace stopped-and-started, after putting her head in her hands in disbelief. She then ran her hands through her hair before continuing.
“Jesus. I can’t even — this is who tons of people have endorsed, a woman who says national security isn’t her thing? When we’re literally on the precipice of China invading Taiwan.”
Her reaction came a few days after Graham was asked at a debate by co-moderator, Greta Van Susteren, “Are Taiwan and the South China Sea national security issues for the United States? And if so, why or how?”
“I’m just gonna be honest here,” Graham answered. “I’m not, on national security — I’m not that informed on national security, so — but I do support the military. My brother was in the Air Force for 33 years, so I will do everything I can to support the military. My dad was in the Army. I’m not a polished politician up here. National security is not my thing, not my area of expertise, but I support the military.”
Her answer spurred a whole lot of mockery. And Mace kept it going on her YouTube show, saying she could not believe Graham could become a senator with an answer like that.
“Darline, darlin’, you are runnin’ for the United States Senate. National security isn’t just a thing, it is damn near the only thing!” Mace said.
Mace added Graham’s answer was especially bad, considering she said she would support President Donald Trump sending American troops into Iran.
“She doesn’t know enough to have an opinion about China, but she knows enough to send your kid to Tehran,” Mace said. “That’s not a candidate, that’s what we call a rubber stamp.”
