‘JD Vance Is Describing His Own Government’: Tarlov Mocks VP’s ‘Fraudsters and Criminals’ Warning

Fox News’ Jessica Tarlov turned Vice President JD Vance’s warning about “fraudsters and criminals” back on President Donald Trump’s administration Friday, arguing that the vice president was actually “describing his own government.”

During a speech about the Trump administration’s economic agenda at a factory in his hometown of Middletown, Ohio, Vance claimed, “We are finally seeing that American dream of homeownership become accessible again to young people.”

“I believe that this November,” Vance went on, referencing the upcoming midterm elections, “we’re gonna face a choice… Do we demand that our government serve us and our children rather than fraudsters and criminals? Do we demand that the American president fight for the American people first?”

On Friday’s edition of The Five, Tarlov dismantled each of the above statements.

Of the vice president’s housing assertions, the Fox News host said, “The average age of homeownership just hit 40 years old in this country. Mortgage rates are up. Construction is down. That’s directly related to the war in Iran.” The cost to ship construction materials has risen amid the conflict, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Moving on to Vance’s midterm plea, Tarlov said, “70% of Americans say Donald Trump isn’t focused on lowering costs, doesn’t care about people like me, and 70% say that his businesses influence how he makes political decisions. He’s made $2.2 billion. JD Vance is describing his own government — the fraudsters and the criminals — and Americans will vote based on that.”

In a 927-page disclosure released in June, the president revealed that he made more than $1 billion in his crypto ventures last year, including $636 million via a Trump Organization affiliate responsible for the $TRUMP memecoin and nearly $600 million in income at World Liberty Financial, which Trump and his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump co-founded. Overall, Trump made at least $2.2 billion in 2025.
