The Federalist Co-Founder Pushes Totally Nonsensical Theory: Trump Wins Or Election is ‘Rigged’
Sean Davis, a co-founder of pro-Trump website The Federalist, claimed that if former President Donald Trump doesn’t win the White House it’s proof that the entire electoral process is a “manufactured facade.”
The Trump critic turned MAGA diehard took to X on Monday to make the claim about a race that polls show is a coin toss between Harris and Trump.
“Either Trump wins or elections in this country are a completely manufactured facade,” Davis said. In another post, he said a Trump loss would mean the election was “rigged” and democracy “is truly over.”
Final polling, of course, indicates that the election is “historically close”, as data analysts across cable news networks and major outlets have repeatedly found the candidates tied or so close that any call remains well within the margin of error. Pollster Nate Silver called the election a “pure toss-up” as his own model failed to give any definitive indication of who might take office after the votes are finally counted.
Davis’ take is also just consistent with his commentary throughout this election year. He deemed the ABC presidential debate, for example, as “rigged.”
Trump’s New York hush money trial was “rigged.”
In May, Davis even argued that Democrats “rigged” an “entire pandemic.”
To his critics he even recommended they read a book called Rigged, written by The Federalist’s editor-in-chief Mollie Hemingway:
Many took to X to point out that Davis’s claim about a rigged election was nonsensical.
If anything, the claims from Davis is a strong indication that Trump’s supporters are preparing to reject the election result if Harris does win — a 2020 deja-vu that will carry into the coming months.
