WATCH: Trump Shouted Out ‘My Friend’ Pam Bondi Hours Before Firing at Scrubbed White House Event
President Donald Trump cheerfully shouted out then-Attorney General Pam Bondi at a White House event less than 24 hours before her firing became public.
Bondi’s tenure has been marked by the repeated failure of revenge cases against former FBI director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James, as well as the lighting of the Epstein files fuse weeks into the second term.
That tenure came to an end on Thursday when multiple outlets reported Bondi’s ouster, and Trump announced the move on Truth Social. Bondi will be replaced by current Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.
Bondi was among the guests at an Easter lunch in the East Room on Wednesday afternoon that was supposed to be a private event, but was mistakenly streamed live and later deleted.
The president recognized Bondi with a chummy greeting that appears to support the amicable parting that the White House is projecting, then launched into a rant about his bad day at the Supreme Court:
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Attorney General Pam, my friend, Pam Bondi.
(APPLAUSE).
Hi, Pam!
(HOOTING AND WHISTLING).
And we just left the Supreme Court. I didn’t realize, it’s the first time in history that a president went to the Supreme Court. I was really surprised to hear that.
And Supreme Court’s not been acting very well, actually. It was today on birthright citizenship.
(TO BONDI) How did it finish up?
(INAUDIBLE).
Who knows, right? It’s a problem, you never know. You know, you know with the Democrats because a Democrat appointment always votes, no matter what. You can have the greatest case in history. You can a case where the person you’re suing admits they’re guilty. And if you’re in front of a Democrat judge, she’ll overturn that admittance.
No, it’s very unfair. Republicans, judges, and justices, they always want to show that they’re independent.
I don’t care if Trump appointed me. I don’t care if he doesn’t make any difference to me. I’m voting against him. Because they want to show their independence.
You know, stupid people.
But the Democrats, you’re going to have the greatest case in history, and they’ll be voting against you every single time.
And then they get upset with you when you complain about it. I get admonished a little bit.
“There is no Republican judge, and there is no Democrat judge,” a certain person says. And I say… You’ve lost all credibility when you say that. It’s really pretty tough.
So Pam and I were over there with some people. We watched. And actually, nobody knew what the hell was going on. Simple subject. Simple subject, it’s look at the time. It was passed right at the end of the Civil War.
Watch above.
