‘F*cking Crazy!’ Joe Rogan Slams Trump Admin for Trying to Deport Student Protestors
Joe Rogan called out President Donald Trump’s administration for the way it has gone after foreign-born college students who’ve criticized the government.
Through the first few months of Trump’s second term, the president instructed his administration to crack down on anti-Israel demonstrations on campuses across the country. As a result, a number of high-profile protestors were detained by immigration agents. Among those detained included Columbia University students Mahmoud Khalil and Mohsen Mahdawi. Despite the administration’s efforts to have them deported — alleging they were engaged in activities supporting Hamas — they were both ordered to be released in separate cases.
Tufts University student Rumeysa Ozturk — who was detained for writing an op-ed urging the school to divest from companies funding the war in Gaza — was also freed in May.
During a conversation with comedian Mike Vecchione on Tuesday’s episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan argued that the Trump administration was “over-correcting” the influx of immigrants coming into the country and abusing its power:
ROGAN: And then they’re kicking students out that, like, write articles they don’t like.
VECCHIONE: Yeah, that’s nuts.
ROGAN: Fucking crazy.
VECCHIONE: Yeah.
ROGAN: Isn’t a university supposed to be a place where someone’s allowed to express themselves and have opinions?
VECCHIONE: Non-violently.
ROGAN: Yeah. They’re writing something down and they’re not calling for violence either; and they’re getting challenged. That’s supposed to be how it happens. You get challenged. Smarter people have better arguments or your argument stands.
VECCHIONE: Right, discourse. It’s supposed to be a place for discourse.
ROGAN: That’s what it’s supposed to be. Deporting people because you don’t like who they’re criticizing? Like, that gets kind of shifty.
