‘He’s a Mean, Mean Person!’ Victor Davis Hanson Calls Zohran Mamdani ‘Psychopath’ in Wild Rant

Veteran conservative pundit Victor Davis Hanson went off on New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D), calling him a “psychopath” simply “angling” for political gain.

On his show for The Daily Signal on Friday, Hanson blasted Mamdani for publishing a database of New York properties subject to a pied-à-terre tax, which would tax properties not used as a primary residence.

The list has led to accusations of the mayor doxxing residents.

Hanson called out Mamdani as a self-serving politician gripping onto “socialist” principles out of convenience:

I don’t think people understand him. He would rather be a socialist mayor over rubble than a successful mayor of New York. What drives him is not even social equality. It’s anger, envy, and hatred of people who have more money than he does.

That’s a common symptom of the upper, upper middle class, right? So he’s a walking hypocrisy. He’s an only child of a mother who came over here from Uganda as the privileged family of 1%. 60, 70 thousand people owned 60% of the GDP.

He had all of those perks. He comes over here. He’s a prolonged adolescent. He had no job. He was a rapper. He was an activist. And finally he won a term in the New York Assembly.

Then he became a hard socialist and that’s — everything he says is vindictive and mean. I’m surprised that when you have his own staff meeting stealthily with the Iranian delegation that’s from a government that just killed 40-50,000, that he wouldn’t say, when the Iranians come, let’s demonstrate against them, but he wouldn’t because A, they’re Muslim, and B, he thinks they’re left wing.

Hanson added, “Everybody should realize he hates Jews and he hates Israel and that consumes him and that’s why he says, we’re gonna go after — and he hates white people — and he has this fake socialist smile that’ says he’s a really nice guy, but he’s a psychopath.”

Mamdani is a vocal critic of Israel’s government and he’s an open Democratic socialist. Hanson argued during his podcast that the mayor, whom he called a “narcissist,” is “angling” for a vice presidential nomination, and he slammed him as “mean.”

He said:

He thinks that he can smile and sweet talk, but he’s got a mean-streak in him. Everyone should remember that. He’s a mean, mean person. That’s why he does stupid things like, you’re going to get an email, I’m gonna dox you, I’m gonna go after whiter neighborhoods, oh, you’re mad that he yelled, Allahu Akbar and stabbed some people, can’t hear you. That kind of attitude. And, you know, all of his plans — he’s not going to open a bunch of food markets. The only thing he’s got going for him is he’s going to pay the rent, he’s going to give them the land, so they can compete. They’re inefficient, but maybe they’ll have an edge or a private market to pay taxes and stuff, so everything he does is going to help ruin New York, and they voted for him.
