Kamala Harris Goes Berserk Over Trump’s Ballroom Construction With SNAP Funds Set to Expire: ‘Are You F*cking Kidding Me?!’
Former Vice President Kamala Harris went off on President Donald Trump’s construction of a $300 million White House ballroom while federal food assistance is set to expire in a matter of hours.
Harris joined Jon Stewart for the Thursday episode of The Weekly Show podcast where she promoted her book, 107 Days, and opened up about her relationship with former President Joe Biden.
At one point, Harris was outraged over Trump’s ballroom construction continuing to take place during a government shutdown. The $300 million project at the White House is funded entirely by private donors.
“Are you f*cking kidding me? This guy wants to create a ballroom for his rich friends while completely turning a blind eye to the fact that babies are going to starve when the SNAP benefits end in just hours from now. Come on,” Harris said.
SNAP benefits are set to run out of funding on Saturday while Democrats and Republicans remain in a standstill over a continuing resolution to fund the government. House Speaker Mike Johnson told CNN it is an “all or nothing” strategy for Republicans and claimed he cannot approve separate funding for SNAP despite bipartisan calls to do so. The shutdown has lasted four weeks.
“I’m not going to be distracted by, ‘Oh, does the guy have a big f**king hammer!?’ What about those babies!?” Harris told Stewart.
In the same episode, Harris stunned Stewart at one point by declaring she believes Biden, now 82, was “fully competent” to serve another four years in the White House.
“I believe he was fully competent to serve,” Harris said.
“Do you really?” a shocked Stewart asked.
The Daily Show host pushed back by saying Biden being “fully competent” is not a position most could wrap their heads around.
“I think it’s a hard case to make for people that he didn’t have the stamina to run, but he had the stamina to govern because I think most people view the presidency as a marathon run at a sprint with tomatoes being thrown at you in terms of governance,” he said.
