This Photo of the Cincinnati Reds Fan Getting Tased Is Absolutely Mesmerizing

A photographer captured the moment a Cincinnati Reds fan was tased by police in what many online are already calling the sports photo of the year.
The fan, 19-year-old William Hendon from Cleves, Ohio, jumped into the outfield during the Reds’ Tuesday game against the Cleveland Guardians. As a security guard chased him, Hendon stopped to do a standing backflip as the crowd cheered him on.
Seconds after Hendon landed his backflip, the security guard fired his taser and the fan immediately dropped to the ground.
By early Wednesday morning, professional photos of the incident were online. Users were especially stunned by the ones taken by Andy Lyons of Getty Images, whose photos showed the exact moment Hendon felt himself being tased.
“Andy Lyons from Getty Images deserves a Pulitzer for this,” OutKick editor Joe Kinsey said online.

Lyons took several more photos of the viral moment. In one, Hendon can be seen running across the field with his arms raised as he acknowledged the crowd. For some reason his socks were off.
In another, the security guard was just inches away from Hendon while he did the backflip. His taser was seen in his right hand as he tried grabbing him.
Unfortunately, Hendon evaded his grasp and he had to resort to tasing him. Hendon’s face reveals just how painful being tased apparently is.
Unbelievable series of photos

Hendon was arrested and charged following the stunt. He also spent the night at a local jail.
