WATCH: Fan at Mets Game Gets Taken Away in Cuffs on Live TV
A fan at Wednesday’s game between the Yankees and Mets appeared to be arrested on live TV, and it happened right behind home plate.
In the seventh inning of the second game of the legendary “Subway Series,” Mets pitcher Adrian Houser took the mound. After retiring Yankees third baseman Oswaldo Cabrera, he got ready to pitch to shortstop Anthony Volpe. As Houser began his windup, the broadcast switched from a close-up on him to the regular angle facing home plate. There, a man could be seen getting removed from Citi Field in handcuffs. He was accompanied by at at three police officers and several security personnel.
The man was only on the screen for a split second, meaning some viewers at home probably missed it. No details have been given regarding the fan’s removal from the stadium, leaving many online to simply speculate on what could have happened.
Some even joked that he bore a striking resemblance to John McClane, the action hero played by Bruce Willis in the movie Die Hard.
