‘My Name Is Not Scott’: Hannity Interview With Democratic Candidate Gets Off to Rough Start

An interview between Fox News’ Sean Hannity and Democratic socialist congressional candidate Chris Rabb took an awkward turn Wednesday when Hannity corrected his guest for calling him “Scott,” emphasizing, “My name is Sean.”

Rabb, currently a Pennsylvania state representative, won his district’s Democratic primary in May. He’s a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), who endorsed his campaign, along with Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Maxwell Frost (D-FL), Ro Khanna (D-CA), and Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD).

Before letting his guest speak on Wednesday, Hannity made sure to list Rabb’s “radical positions,” including “Medicare for all, universal basic income, federal jobs guarantees,” and more.

“In other words,” explained Hannity, “what he is saying is he would not just reshape our institutions — he would tear them down… Chris, I appreciate you coming.”

“My pleasure,” responded Rabb. “Thank you, Scott.”

“Uh, my name is not Scott,” said Hannity, seemingly confused. “My name is Sean, but that’s okay.”

Raising his eyebrows, Rabb quickly corrected himself, replying, “Apologies.”

“Nah, no worries, no worries,” allowed Hannity.

The interview continued in a relatively tense manner, with Hannity pressing Rabb on the DSA platform, asking “yes or no” questions like, “You want to eliminate the U.S. Senate?”

“Um, that’s not really what I ran on,” said the Pennsylvania state representative. “That’s the DSA national platform. I’m the Democratic nominee for the 3rd Congressional District.”

“Do you want amnesty for illegals and to abolish borders?” asked the Fox News host.

“What are illegals?” Rabb hit back.

“Illegal immigrants,” stressed Hannity. “People that didn’t respect our laws, borders, and sovereignty, and entered the country without permission.”

“Yeah, I don’t accept the premise of that question,” said Rabb. “These are not criminal acts.”

“Excuse me,” snapped Hannity. “If you enter our country illegally, uh, by definition, that is a criminal act.”
