WATCH: Ferran Torres Clinches World Cup Victory for Spain With Clutch Goal Against Argentina

Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal to put Spain up 1-0 on Argentina and deliver his country the 2026 World Cup title on Sunday after 105 minutes of deadlocked action.

Torres came off the bench and broke the 0-0 score just 39 seconds into the second half of overtime, booting the ball into the back of the net with his left foot from about 20 feet away.

The score sent the Spain fans inside MetLife Stadium in New Jersey into a frenzy. Torres celebrated by sprinting and kicking a giant pylon as his teammates chased after him; they mugged him with hugs once they caught him, while Argentine legend Lionel Messi looked down at the grass in pain.

“It’s a goal! It’s Ferran Torres!” Fox Sports announcer John Strong yelled out.

“Well, that’s one way to break the Argentine spirit!” Stu Holden chimed in. He then gave Spain’s Nico Williams kudos for keeping a long pass in play and heading it back to Torres, allowing him to take the go-ahead shot.

“And he HAMMERS that ball home for his moment!” Holden said as Fox replayed the score.

Spain held onto its 1-0 edge for the final 14 minutes of overtime to dethrone the reigning champs and earn its second World Cup championship.

Fox captured Messi sitting on the field and looking on as the Spanish squad started to party, in what is likely the last World Cup for the 39-year-old superstar.

The 26-year-old striker scored the massive goal with a ton of stars and celebrities watching from the crowd, including Tom Brady, Kevin Hart, Timothée Chalamet. 

Tom Cruise gave a dramatic speech before kick-off, and President Donald Trump was there with First Lady Melania Trump as well — and appeared to get booed pretty badly when the crowd caught a glimpse of him.

Trump later walked out alongside his pal FIFA boss Gianni Infantino to drape medals over the players and officials one-by-one.
