Fox Host Rachel Campos-Duffy Walks Back Comments Calling CNN’s Van Jones a ‘Communist’

Fox News Host Rachel Campos-Duffy took a moment on Monday’s Outnumbered to walk back her statement that CNN’s Van Jones was a “communist.”

Campos-Duffy was in the midst of a diatribe against moderate Democrats, whom she accused of having “radical agendas.”

“Van Jones is a self-proclaimed communist! I mean, he’s not a moderate. What he is is a power-seeking person and he likes the position of power and money that he has within the current Democrat establishment,” Campos-Duffy said, continuing:

And part of that is hiding, you know, hiding the agenda. Pretending like you are more moderate. And these young people are saying, “No. We want to be out and proud. What’s wrong? You told us in school that we should be — you know, that socialism was great, and you never told us how many people it killed. You told us it was awesome and that capitalism was patriarchal and terrible and racist,” and now they’re actually acting out on it. And the people in the party are like, “Wait, wait! You’re not supposed to say any of these things out loud. We are just supposed to get into power.” So, this is a very interesting situation that they are in. They can’t control the young people, and they don’t want to own them, but they created them.

About nine minutes later, host Harris Faulkner interrupted the discussion on a Trump Truth Social post, where he dismissed New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s insinuation that he’ll arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the next time he travels to the Big Apple.

“Rachel, I know you have something you want to clarify,” Faulkner said.

“Oh, so I said that Van Jones was a communist. I guess he’s a ‘former communist,'” Campos-Duffy said. “Just like Karen Bass says she ‘used to be a communist’ when she was trained in the fields and the youth movements for the Youth Brigade in Cuba. So, we’ll see. He says he’s not a communist anymore? Okay.”

Fox News and frequent guest Kevin O’Leary are currently being sued by two Utah nonprofit leaders who allege they were falsely portrayed on air as agents of the Chinese Communist Party, in a dispute over O’Leary’s proposed data center project.

According to Politico, O’Leary made similar allegations across at least 10 Fox News appearances, calling the pair “proxies for the Chinese government.”
