Art of the Deal Co-Author Tears Into ‘Sociopath’ Trump: ‘He Probably Has Never Paid Taxes’

Art of the Deal co-author Tony Schwartz followed up his blistering tweet slamming President Donald Trump‘s business acumen with an appearance on CNN where he called the president a “sociopath.”

Earlier today, Schwartz tweeted out this in response to the New York Times’s bombshell that Trump had reported $1 billion in losses — and paid virtually no taxes — in ten years.

Then, speaking with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, the CNN host noted that Trump must have been under intense pressure to keep up such a facade of success.

In response, Schwartz said this: “If I had to rewrite — I’m sorry, rename The Art of the Deal,” I would call it The Sociopath.”

He then explained more about why Trump did not feel the pressure of his massive success lie.

“I think that’s a window into why he doesn’t experience the kind of overwhelming pressure and tension at the level you or I would or most people would, because he has no conscience, he has no guilt,” the writer explained. “All he — all he wants to do is make the case that he would like to be true. And while I do think that he’s probably aware that more walls are closing around him than ever before, he does not experience the world in the way an ordinary human being would.”

He added “without question” Trump is a sociopath.

At another point in the conversation, Cooper stressed that Trump was not paying taxes while claiming those losses.

“We should reiterate, he didn’t pay any taxes for eight out of ten years, which may make sense to him, but again, it’s not printed out on any of the hats he sells on the website,” Cooper said, referring to Trump’s MAGA hats.

That is when Schwartz suggested he probably never paid taxes.

“He has never paid taxes,” he said, calling his comments a guess. “It’s going to turn out that he probably has never paid taxes during his adult life.”
