Bill Burr Warns The View That Elon Musk and the Nerds Who ‘Don’t Know How to Talk to Hot Women’ Are Taking Over the World
Comedian Bill Burr continued trashing Elon Musk and raising alarm about the rise of “nerds” on his current media tour promoting his Broadway debut and a new comedy special.
In a Thursday interview on The View to push his role in Glengarry Glen Ross and his special Drop Dead Years, Burr said it’s “nerds that own the politicians” and “don’t know how to talk to hot women” that are raising his “ire” more than usual these days.
“Is there anybody getting your ire up more these days than usual?” Joy Behar asked.
“The nerds that own the politicians. All these tech nerds that want to build robots because they don’t know how to talk to hot women. They’re gonna take over the world. They are literally going to replace us. We’re like Beta right now and they’re coming out with the VCR,” Burr said.
He joked Musk’s focus on space is so he can ditch this world after he “trashes” it. Burr has taken multiple shots at Musk in recent interviews, including on The Breakfast Club where he accused Musk and other “nerds” of “ruining the world.” The comedian also roasted Musk’s “piece of shit” Tesla vehicles and his work with DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency).
As Musk’s focus has turned to his work with President Donald Trump’s administration, Tesla has seen its stock price drop and protests around the country targeting Tesla vehicles and buildings.
Burr argued on The View that the country is in need of someone to “bring the boiling water down to a simmer” and he accused the media of playing into the panic and division that may not accurately reflect day-to-day life.
Check out the exchange below:
BILL BURR: I’m not into politicians at all. They don’t make any money, they’re set up to be bribed, and in the end they’re all worth like $50 to $100 million. And everybody thinks one side is better than the other. I don’t know. It’s a weird time. I just feel like someone needs to bring the boiling water down to a simmer and everybody on both sides — like you watch CNN, Fox, you go online, or you listen to politicians, it’s all, ‘ahhhhhh!’ And then you walk out on the street and somebody’s like, hey, how you doing? And you’re like, good. So I don’t think they’re living in a reality —
JOY BEHAR: Is there anybody getting your ire up more these days than usual?
BURR: Nerds! The nerds that own the politicians. All these tech nerds that want to build robots because they don’t know how to talk to hot women. They’re gonna take over the world. They are literally going to replace us. We’re like Beta right now and they’re coming out with the VCR. And I think Elon has got the rockets going because they realize there’s other Earths out there and they’re gonna trash this one. They don’t have any concern for it. And then they’re gonna move onto the next Earth and, you know, everybody’s gonna be standing down here in their blue and red ties going, wait a minute, I was on your side. And they’re just gonna leave.
BEHAR: You were talking about death in your set. Do they not realize that they’re going to die, these people? They don’t realize that eventually everybody dies.
BURR: I always wondered that about all religions where they always talk about a wrathful God and we’ll send you to hell and it’s like, none of you guys are operating like you fear this, the way you run your religion so I understand any of that. I’m just trying to be, like, chill. Somebody holds the door, ‘hey thank you, I appreciate it.’
