DHS Secretary Takes a Break to Work Out with Lara Trump on Fox News: ‘We Need to Look Intimidating!’

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin took a break from the job by working out with Lara Trump and Coast Guard members for a segment airing on Fox News.

Lara Trump joined Charlie Hurt on Fox & Friends Weekend Saturday to tease the segment, which includes Mullin leading the massive workout. The full segment will air on My View with Lara Trump at 9 p.m. ET.

“It’s going to be an awesome show. I met up with Secretary Markwayne Mullin, DHS secretary, and the Coast Guard, Charlie, celebrated their 236th birthday. They deserve a lot of credit for securing our borders, but they also deserve a lot of credit for kicking my butt. You know I love a good workout. Look who led the workout, the secretary himself,” Trump said.

Mullin also posted a video to X about the physical fitness training.

“I am so excited. Thank you, Secretary, for having me here,” Trump said in the video standing next to Mullin in a gym.

She applauded the DHS Secretary for “whipping everybody into shape at DHS.”

“We are,” Mullin agreed. “Listen, the Coast Guard leads the way. DHS, we protect the homeland, right? So we need to look intimidating because every single day we’re going to work. There’s not a day that we have a rest day. There’s not a day that we have a peace day. Every day from the Coast Guard, ICE, CBP, our mission’s to protect the homeland. There’s always somebody trying to get in.”

Mullin added that he was impressed with Lara Trump as she did pushups, squats, and more alongside Coast Guard members.

“She stayed in there, didn’t miss a rep, I was impressed. The first time you ever did the nine-by-eight workout, and it’s a rough workout. That’s pretty impressive,” he said.

“I didn’t come to lose,” Trump said.

Trump officials posting physical fitness videos has become something of a trend.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has left some scratching their heads with his preferred method of wearing jeans while he gets in a pump — he also now has a cooking show — and FBI Director Kash Patel posted a photos of him leading a run with agents this week.
