Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson Conspicuously Missing from Super Bowl Ad

Sunday night’s Super Bowl ad for Time Warner Cable’s new online streaming service featured True Blood’s Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin along with P. Diddy, Jimmy Fallon and Drake. It also included a brief appearance by three-fourths of the Duck Dynasty cast: Willie Robertson, Si Robertson and Jase Robertson. Missing? Family patriarch Phil Robertson, who caused a firestorm last December with his controversial comments about homosexual sex.

Evidently, Time Warner Cable was happy to capitalize on the massive popularity of Duck Dynasty, but thought the inclusion of the man who said that, to him, “a vagina – as a man – would be more desirable than a man’s anus” and compared homosexuality to bestiality was going too far. Either that, or he was busy the day they were shooting the spot.
