Former Dem Rep. Patrick Murphy: Bin Laden Shooter Isn’t ‘Above the Law’

In light of recent news that the Navy SEAL who shot Osama bin Laden is being investigated for potentially leaking classified information, a former congressman and Iraq War veteran says that nobody, including the man who killed bin Laden, is above the law.

Robert O’Neill, who gave an extensive interview to Fox News last month, claimed he was the one who pulled the trigger at bin Laden’s compound in 2011. One of O’Neill’s fellow SEALs, though, criticized him for revealing classified information.

“The administration has been very clear since day one: they do not have any towers for people who break the law,” Patrick Murphy said on MSNBC Friday morning. “You take an oath to serve the country, you take an oath not to disclose secret or classified information, and they’re investigating whether or not that happened or not.”

Murphy added he hopes that is not the case, but if it is, O’Neill should be held accountable. He said whether you’re a SEAL or the President of the United States, no one is above the law.
