Jessica Tarlov Slams Jesse Watters, Republicans Celebrating Comey Indictment: ‘You Are a Vengeful Bunch of Babies!’

Jessica Tarlov slammed co-host Jesse Watters over his defense of the indictment against former FBI Director James Comey, saying on Friday’s episode of The Five that Watters and others who justify the indictment are “a vengeful bunch of babies.”

On Thursday, a federal grand jury indicted Comey on one count of making a false statement and one count of obstruction of a congressional proceeding, referring to his testimony before a September 2020 Senate committee.

“Revenge, retribution, accountability — who cares?” said Watters in response to the argument that President Donald Trump is using these charges as personal revenge against Comey for the FBI’s investigation into potential ties between Russia and his 2016 presidential campaign. “It’s happening and I’m enjoying it.”

“It is an eye for an eye, and I hope we win,” continued Watters. “[The FBI] spied on [Trump], staged a coup, impeached him twice, tried to bankrupt his company, leaked his tax returns, and then couldn’t protect him from a sniper. So what are you supposed to do? They didn’t think this was going to happen? They’re stupid.”

“They did, which was why [former President Joe] Biden gave preemptive pardons because he knew that you are a vengeful bunch of babies!” said Tarlov to scattered laughter.

“But who didn’t get the pardon?” asked Watters. “Comey didn’t get the pardon.”

Trump notably told reporters Friday that the indictment is about justice, not revenge. “It’s also about the fact that you can’t let this go on,” he continued. “They are sick, radical left people, and they can’t get away with it, and Comey was one of the people.”
