Jimmy Fallon Roasts Biden’s Upcoming Memoir With Barrage of Jokes About His Age
Jimmy Fallon had a field day mocking former President Joe Biden’s newly announced memoir, joking that the book chronicling the Biden White House years may not take long to read.
Promise Me, America is scheduled for release on November 17, shortly after the midterm elections and days before Biden turns 84, and in a video promo released on Wednesday, the former president said the book will tell the “complete story” of his administration and the decisions that shaped it.
The book is expected to cover major domestic and foreign policy decisions during his presidency, as well as his decision to end his 2024 reelection campaign following his disastrous debate performance against President Donald Trump.
Opening The Tonight Show on Wednesday night, Fallon riffed on the book with a barrage of jabs at the former president.
“It’s the second book Biden has written, the first was The Odyssey,” Fallon quipped, a crack about the ancient Greek epic.
The NBC host followed with a string of jokes centered on Biden’s age and the scrutiny that surrounded the final stretch of his presidency.
“The book was written by a ghostwriter, Joe Biden,” Fallon joked.
He then added: “The book is about what Biden remembers from his presidency, so it’s three pages.”
“It’s kind of a strange book because toward the end it starts being written by Kamala Harris.”
