John Fetterman Trashes Bombshell ‘Hit Piece’ as Reporter Asks If He’s Taking His ‘Medications’
Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) trashed the bombshell Intelligencer exposé that detailed concerns raised by current and former staffers about his well-being as nothing more than a “hit piece” on Tuesday.
The article, which dropped Friday, revealed alarming internal accounts from Fetterman’s current and former staffers, detailing incidents that raised concerns about his erratic behavior.
Fetterman was confronted by NBC News journalist Kate Santaliz in Washington D.C. on Tuesday as he walked.
“It’s a one source story with a couple anonymous sources. Hit piece from a very left publication. There’s really nothing more to say about that,” he said.
Santaliz asked: “He said he was worried that you’re not taking your medications. Are you taking your medication, sir?”
“Again, the hit piece, anonymous sources,” Fetterman said as the video cut short.
The article focused on concerns expressed about Fetterman’s mental health, centered largely on a 2024 letter from his then-chief of staff, Adam Jentleson, to one of Fetterman’s doctors.
Jentleson, who served from 2022 to 2024, expressed fear that Fetterman was on a “bad trajectory,” citing erratic behavior, signs of untreated depression, and failure to follow medical advice.
The letter, sent to Dr. David Williamson at Walter Reed, detailed alleged episodes of “conspiratorial thinking,” megalomania, and manic mood swings. Jentleson claimed Fetterman avoided briefings, delivered long, rambling monologues, and lied in ways that were “painfully, awkwardly obvious.” He also raised red flags about Fetterman purchasing a firearm and warned others not to ride with him behind the wheel.
The report included similar concerns from other staffers and alleged private worries expressed by Fetterman’s wife.
