‘Massive Help to Trump’: Right Roasts, Taunts Claire McCaskill For Claiming Ex-President is ‘Even More Dangerous’ Than Hitler

Right-of-center and pro-Trump media figures took aim at MSNBC contributor and former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) on Tuesday after she warned that former President Donald Trump is “even more dangerous” than Mussolini and Hitler.

McCaskill was on Deadline: White House Tuesday when said, “A lot of people have tried to draw similarities between Mussolini and Hitler and the use of the terminology like ‘vermin’ and the drive that those men had towards autocracy and dictatorship.”

She added, “The difference, though, I think makes Donald Trump even more dangerous, and that is he has no philosophy he believes in. He is not trying to expand the boundaries of the United States of America. He is not trying to overcome a neighboring country like Putin is in Ukraine. He is not going for a grandiose scheme of international dominance. All he wants is to look in the mirror and see a guy who is president. All he cares about is selfish self-promotion. That’s the only philosophy he has.”

The former Missouri senator’s comments come at a moment when many in the media are grappling with how to cover Trump as he publicly vows to gut the federal government and stock it with loyalists willing to help him use it to exact revenge on his domestic critics. McCaskill’s comments quickly went viral and drew both taunts and strong criticism from the right.

OutKick’s Clay Travis, who is also a talk radio host now, reacted by writing, “Trump is more dangerous than Hitler according to MSNBC guest. This kind of talking point was always deranged, but I think all of this is now a massive help to Trump in 2024. No one with a functional brain believes this, these people are batshit insane.”

Fox’s Laura Ingraham replied, “Trump…Stalin…blah blah blah…Trump Hitler…blah blah blah…Trump…end of democracy…blah blah blah…Since Biden has failed at everything, and America is waking up, this is all they have.”

“They’ve missed this so much,” jested conservative media critic Stephen Miller.
