MSNBC Guest Calls Black Conservatives ‘Chickens for Colonel Sanders’
An MSNBC guest denounced minority Republicans as “chickens for Colonel Sanders” while slamming Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) during an interview with Joy Reid Friday night.
On The ReidOut, Wajahat Ali declared that people such as Donalds – who is Black and has the Florida gubernatorial endorsement of President Donald Trump should he run – would never truly be accepted into the Republican Party.
Reid noted that Trump had offered Donalds his full support in a statement on social media, drawing mockery from Ali.
The host said, “Your thoughts, Byron Donalds, who walked out after Dixie was played in New York and has no shame there. They say he’s going to be governor of Florida now.” Ali replied:
You know, every community has what I call their chickens for Colonel Sanders. Muslims had their halal chickens. The Black community has their chickens. Byron Donalds is a grown-ass Black man who referred to Donald Trump as his daddy. And what I want to tell the Byron Donalds and every community that’s got a Byron Donalds – I got a Kash Patel. We got a we got a Nimrata, you know, the Haley. We all got ’em. All right. What I want to say is this: They’ll never love you. They’ll never love you. No matter what you do. They’ll never love you. You can never wipe out that brown or Black skin.
Trump urged Donalds to run for governor in Florida in 2028 via a message he posted to Truth Social Thursday:
I know Byron well, have seen him tested at the highest and most difficult levels, and he is a TOTAL WINNER! Byron has a great wife, Erika, and three beautiful sons. They are very proud of him! As Governor, Byron would have a BIG Voice, and would work closely with me to advance our America First Agenda. He will fight tirelessly to Secure our Border, Stop Migrant Crime, Strengthen our Military, Protect our Vets, Restore our Economic Power, Advance American Energy DOMINANCE, and Defend our always-under-siege Second Amendment.
Byron Donalds would be a truly Great and Powerful Governor for Florida and, should he decide to run, will have my Complete and Total Endorsement. RUN, BYRON, RUN!
